I'm staying at Dover Rise and the bus fees are $85 2-way for afternoon session.

My DD's P3 teachers were different for all subjects.

My girl's P3 form teacher is also her Maths & Science teacher. Hopefully she's a more \"on\" teacher as I understand that the quality of teaching varies greatly across different teachers in P3 as reflected in my girl's now P4 school bus friends.

1 was from a P3 class with minimal homework, 1 from class with more extra work. You can guess which girl gets into the E/F class.

I had this experience b4 during P2 i think. From then i asked my dd to buy all the excercise books needed for the following year b4 the Nov/Dec holiday and I buy all the textbooks from popular during the school holiday. This is how i avoid the queue.

The first few days are usually very chaotic. DD said there are students transferred from other schools wearing their former school uniform.

I have not heard of any restriction on the number of times one can take for the CCA bus. Usually come upper primary the one that is compulsary is CCA and the other important one is HMT (optional). Others are optional.

Thanks. Will apply similar strategy going forward, i.e. buy the items that can only be bought from school bookshop earlier so as to avoid the maid rush during 1st few days of school. The teachers were giving instruction on the exercise books that need to be handed in and we still had not got them, my girl was very panicky.

Have actually confirmed with the school bus coordinator that:
1.\tCCA bus pricing is $20 per month fixed
2.\tNo limits on the number of trips to be taken once the $20 CCA bus fare has been made.

Quite frustrated with my current school bus uncle. He was giving me the wrong facts, whether unintentionally or intentionally. I know we stay far from school, but does not mean that he can anyhow contravene the agreement with school.

As CCA bus will only start from 3rd week onwards, we still have not got the CCA bus form and need to make payment yet. But I am thinking of a possible response to him?? As of now I will only take CCA bus once a week as if possible, will try to arrange my girl’s CCA to be after her HCL lesson on Friday. But payment wise, should we just keep quiet and pay the $30 instead of the $20??

My DD's P3 class got quite limited homework everyday, she can finish all works in 1 hour, mostly she finished all works less than 40 minutes.
I felt her class records quite good. There were about 8 people went to GEP 1st round, 3 went to GEP, and over 10 people went to E/F class. I like her teachers, experience, response, strict as well as kind to all students.

8 to GEP!!! :yikes: that's about 20% of the class, sounds like a GEP factory!!! :celebrate: which class was your dd last year? 3 High-ability?

Some characteristics i observed when interacting with the GEP girls are mature, very focus (not easily distracted), detailed and no nonsense type. JMHO.

Being mature, focus, detailed and no-nonsense - In my opinion these are the essential traits to be cultivated for the child to be able to cope with life as well. Ultimately, the only person one can depend on is - oneself!

Still scratching my head on how to gradually & slowly guide my girl towards that direction :scratchhead: It's a lifelong commitment.....

Not many children or i should say very few can be like that by the age of 9 and i don’t think these can be trained. For some may only realise these later in life.
