      Hi all.

thanks for sharing all these info as it will be very useful for parents whose kids have just started in P1.
just curious - does anyone know how did RVPS fare for last year's PSLE results? the school website only indicated the % of A/A* and subject passes, but did not mentioned the top 10 students etc..
hi DS was in RVPS for 3 yrs but moved to another sch this yr becos of GEP. just to let you know that the top scorer for PSLE 2011 was a girl with 269 I think. during the 3 yrs DS spent there, he was v happy, teachers were v patient with him as he asked many questions. I also like the fact the teacher there are v upfront with feedback, they will share both good and bad with parents. Schoolwork load i noted is not as heavy compared to my elder child a girl from another all girls' school. what i like abt RVPS is that (well at least for the 1st 3 yrs where DS was there), there were many programs like visiting old folks, watching plays and school camps - it gives a rounded education and the emphasis is not always on academics. if it offers GEP, i would gladly let my son stay on. Hope this info helps ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrat to your DS making it to the GEP. My DD is probably in the same class as your DS last year. My older DS is also from RVPS and went to GEP. Now he is in RI Year 1.

Hi TwaTau, I would suspect your DD and my DS were classmates...has your DD left RVPS as well ? My older child DD was not from GEP and not from RVPS, she like your older DS is in Yr 1 RGS ๐Ÿ™‚

DS misses RVPS and his old friends....

DD is still in RVPS, acadamically not as good as my DS lah, ๐Ÿคท
That is what my DS feel when he leave to join the GEP. In fact that was one reason he initially refuse to leave RVPS. Took a long and painful time before he finally agreed to transfer out. It was however a decision that I don't think he will regret. Very much enjoy the programme and having a bunch of very close friends after that.

Hi there,my galโ€™s P1 this is in RVPS and am generally quite happy with the schoolโ€™s arrangement so far in settling the young kids for the new environment. However,I find that the prices of food in the canteen is slightly higher than other schools in the neighborhood.and on wed,dd wanted to try out the fish ball noodles thus the P5 buddy brought her to that stall.the price on the board indicated $0.70/$0.90 so buddy asked her to get ready $0.70.Upon ordering, auntie told her itโ€™s $1.20 instead.the bowl of noodles only consisted noodles, soup and 2 fish balls.curious,I went to the canteen the next day to check with the auntie, she insisted that the child had probably ordered additional ingredients for that price.dd bought the same noodles on the next day,and it was $0.70 instead.Hope itโ€™s a one-time off misunderstanding as itโ€™s not

right for canteen vendors to charge as they like it,esp when the kids are so small.

Thatโ€™s my DD favourite stall, and $0.70 is about right for the noodle.

My child was a transferee into RVPS. He mentioned tat canteen food are more ex than his previous sch.

The variety of food avail is not bad though. Unfortunately my kids prefer snacks to proper (noodle/rice) food.

A packet of nuggets cost abt $3.50-$4 @ ntuc, prob abt 25-30 pieces. Canteen selling each piece of nuggets at 40cents! Their profits is sky-high!!!
