      Hi clayman

Could I ask abt my chances of registering DS under phase 2A(2) since I'm more than 2km away from the school. Or to be safe, should I move up to 2A(1) by joining the alumni?

DS born is 2008, so I need to join the alumni no later than 30 June 2013 for the 2014 registration exercise.

      Cheers
DS will be registering this year. I joined the OBA just to ensure that I get into 2A1. But clayman is right that 2A2 should be safe. But having gone through balloting to get my daughter into P1 last year, i am being as KS as possible.

Should have paid $50 to join OBA a long time ago!

May I know if you have evaluated ACS Primary against ACS Junior? What are the factors that made you decide to go for ACS Primary? I read somewhere in this forum that some prefer ACS Junior.

I’m a former boy from ACS Primary Fort Canning Road. Can I register my kid for ACS Junior?

If you are previously at ACS primary, you have to stick to it. You can’t go to ACS junior.

                Hi Shalomger,

You can opt to pay using Edusave. Your DS will be given a form to authorise the drawing of the funds from your DS's Edusave account.

Thanks shalomger. Pretty similar amount since ds always set aside $ for savings before putting the rest into his wallet.

For me, I teach him principal of savings, tithing and giving to parents since P3. So I 'purposely' give him more, so that he can put 10% tithe, 10% parents, 20% savings, and still have > $2 to bring to school.

So this year, it's $4 per day, after deducting everything, bring $2.4 to school.

Quite similar to St Andrew's actually. Probably that's why I wasn't too shocked by the food price.

Yep. Similar. We taught DS to tithe his first fruits when he has an allowance and when he receives cash prize or red packets. πŸ™‚ The saving part came naturally to him. He doesn't spend recklessly and that's good. πŸ™‚

I think if the food's good and the portions are good, the prices are reasonable. Canteen operators need to make a living too. πŸ™‚

In his former school, the canteen food was cheaper but v v miserable.
We had to tabao stuff for him if we wanted to make sure he had a decent meal.
