Ds told me tt many of them cried during the camp becoz of homesick .

that is news. not heard of in past years

Heard that the seniors and teachers were rather harsh towards the boys during the camp, and kept shouting and punishing them, maybe that was why the boys broke down (secretly and softly) and missed home?
My DS was so tired that he fell asleep while resting on his comfy bed at 8+. He has sun-burnt on his face, back of his neck and his hands too! Wonder why RI wants to make the boys feel so tired on the first week of a new term, in a new year, at a new school??!!!
it liked NS Amy training , very very tough :scared: they'd limited time to shower, eat and sleep....Ds got gestric and he lost his voice due to non-stop shouting . I'm so regret tt I forgot to let him bring the sun lotion ..

Was it that bad? Ds enjoyed the orientation camp very much, errr 2yrs ago. Yeah, the cheering part...lol. The weather has been hot and sunny. 🆒 Probably most of the RI boys are getting sunburns. Cause, Yr 2 in Malaysian Montage and yr3 doing outward bound Ubin, haha. I don't know what to expect when I fetch ds this afternoon. He probably had not eat, due to unsuccessful cooking; and had not rest, due to wild camping  And, no bathing in the wild :nailbite:

DS says, in his primary school, everything is about GOD (he kept hearing the word ‘GOD’ during every assembly, as they had to thank GOD for everything)…

But in RI, everything is about RAFFLES (he kept hearing the word ‘RAFFLES’ during the camp, and they even had to punch their fists in the air and shout as loud as they could ‘Raffles! Raffles! Raffles!’ during every assembly)!!!

DS says, he suddenly missed hearing the word ‘GOD’…

that's what my son said too. He said shower time didn't have time to bathe properly. Just one shower foam - wash all hair, face, body. He looked as red as a lobster when he came home :yikes:

was it like that also in the past year?? I mean the shouting and punishment?

My DS had little time to shower last year too but he was ok with it.
He said his class were not subjected to much shouting n punishment cos the class was well behaved. But I heard a boy from another class complain about the strict discipline eg seniors reprimanding y1s for using curse words w/c i think is reasonable.
Our sons are youths already. A bit of 'hardship' nevermind.
