There were about 8 people went to GEP, and over 10 people went to E/F class. I like her teachers, experience, response, strict as well as kind to all students.
8 to GEP!!! :yikes: that's about 20% of the class, sounds like a GEP factory!!! :celebrate: which class was your dd last year? 3 High-ability?
Some characteristics i observed when interacting with the GEP girls are mature, very focus (not easily distracted), detailed and no nonsense type. JMHO.
8 to GEP round 1, 3 went for GEP. My DD was in 3F last year. -

Your DD is in 4F? I have been a passive follower of the threads. Hope to share and learn with P4 parents here. -
School bus transportation Woes.
Our girls having to leave home some 2hours before school starts eg 5:20am from Woodlands (or 11:30am from the East for pm
session) because the bus operator 1) uses larger vehicles with 23 persons seating capacity, and routes to 3 different housing estates to fill the bus 2) school bus drop our girls before 7am in order to take another round of adults to their work places.
I am glad to read in this forum that parents staying in the East are rounding up one another to seek collectively appeal to bus operator for a mini van to take their girls direct to the school.
I live in the North and canβt bear to let my girl take the 5:40am school bus. I managed to find a 1-way transport arrangement to pick my girl at 6:25am giving her an extra hour of precious sleep each morning.
We have space for 1 more girl in the car. Any interested parent staying in the North, feel free to contact me via PM. -

Hi,
Anyone can help to refresh my memory on the timeline for the relocation of the school? Is my understanding below correct?
- Start at Mt Sinai Jan 2014
- Shift back to Hillcrest end 2015
My girl will be in P6 come 2015, will be quite disruptive if the shifting back to Hillcrest happens before PSLE in 2015.
Many thanks.
Regards,
Ming -
Cannot quite remember the actual timeline but had the impression that they will be shifting back the year DD has her PSLE. So will be 2015 like yours.
I am not really bothered, be it at Mt Sinai or back to Hillcrest. I think the kids can cope and they basically need only to turn up for school so really doesn't affect them much. At least if they are moving back in 2015, they still get to use the upgraded school facilities for 1 year before they graduate.

Yes, I think the timeline is correct, ie 2014 will be at Mt Sinai and back to Hillcrest from 2016. I think the construction will take 2 years.
