I’ve tried the steamboat along Beach Road. Tried Tien Tien and ChongQing Zhenchong - Tien Tien is pricier then ChongQing Zhenchong and I felt not as nice as CQZC. The food stuff is fresh and the variety is reasonable for the price you pay. drinks is reasonally priced too. Can also have two kind of soup bases and the mala can be adjusted too.

But there are a lot of different stalls in that area. price range is between $12-$15. When they just started, it was only $8-$12. I’ve not tried all the different stalls yet … But in general, seeing the crowd, i would think that the steamboat should be quite ok. and due to the large turnover the food is fresh. only bad point is eating in the open without aircon. but if its just after a rain, might be very shiok…

I have tried Tian Tian, not bad. 😄

As for those $12-$15 kind, i don't dare to try. I try one at Geylang before. $15.90 got BBQ and steamboat. I ever saw the waitress putting the un-cook food from the previous diner's plate back to the kitchen. To my surprisse, the kitchen is full of such plates. And i believe, they were going to recycle them.

          GROSS :!:

M Hotel hotpot is nice, but very expensive.

The 7th Storey @ Marina Barage also not bad, and can order all kinds of zhi char food + chicken rice. Again, not cheap.

              Best is home made.
For the soup, I use 1/2 chicken, 当归 and 枸杞子.
Ingredients, its so convenience nowadays. All the pork belly, beef are sliced up nicely, available at Cold Storage. For fish, I like to use salmon. Of course, not forgetting those fish balls, pork balls etc. Udon, spinich noodle and tung hoon. How can we miss the bloody liver and kidney. 😄

Just prepared last week, for 4 persons, only cost me about $50. Prawns and other more ingredients included.

Heavenly good, cheap, clean and healthy!!
