        Hi All,

Any idea where can I get trolley & roller bag for Primary 1 student?Prefer comes with warranthy period & comply to certain codes & standards.
        Hi titank,

Much as it seems sensible to get a trolley bag (seeing the amount of stuff primary school kids are made to bring to school on a daily basis these days), some schools strongly discourage the use of trolley bags (my girl's school is one of them). I did not know this until it was too late (already bought). :stupid: The reason given was that other students may trip over it.

So my girl was made to carry the bag within school compounds. It's heavy and uncomfortable for her to do this.

You may want to check what your child's school policy on this is just to make sure.

In the case of my kids, roller/ trolley bag is either not allowed or discouraged. If the kids need to climb the stairs, the roller and the bag frame will add weight to the bag.

You can consider those ergonomic bags. My kids started with lego bag. Realised that the bag itself is heavy. But quality is good as it is very durable. We also wanted to make them happy by giving them a nice bag for P1 so that they feel happy gg to primary school.

She got sick of the bag after 1 yr. Currently both are using Deuter ergonomic bags. Kids nowadays will check out what their friends are using and have their own preference.

if your child does not walk to school, there’s no real advantage as they still need to climb the stairs to their classrms.

Hehee.. Schellen's rite. It's good to be clear about it.

Especially since you are planning to get a very good
brand too! 😉 So unless you wanna use the trolley
bag only during those long holidays overseas, or else
simply let it collect dust.... better to be safe than sorry.
If you more KS then buy both, trolley and back pack
type! So, in case of mis-communication, you got
back-up plan... or bag, in your case. 😉

Chief, we got an old thread on school bags and
                stationery... you think can merge?

My children’s school do not encouurage trolley bags as it might be dangerous for the children.

If their classroom is not on the first level, they have to lug their heavy bag up to the level their classroom is.

I personally think getting a good school bag is better and can last longer as compared to trolley bag.

Titank, I personally think trolley bag is not very easy to handle esp for yound kids. You can try the ergonomic bag as suggested by MMM. My two kids used the brand SPI & they are real lasting. My girl is in P4 now & she is still using the same bag since P1. My boy also used his bag fm P1-P4. After 4 yrs, the condition is still gd but I buy a new one cos' the old one design is a bit childish. I pass the old bag to someone (after washing) cos its such a waste to discard it. I usually wash the bag at the yr end sch hols & it looks like a brand new bag again. The bag comes in 2 sizes S & L (approx. $129 for the L one).

Yes, agree that SPI bags are really good and lasting. My boy used it from P1 to P5. Then we changed to Deuter, not because the SPI one was spoilt but because it was getting too small.

Agree with you that the SPI bag is good investment. Can I know to what extent can we get it washed? Did you soak the bag wet or merely wiping the surface? I do that once in a while this yr when he gets crapon marks on them. However I intend to have it a more thorough cleaning this yr end. Any advice?
