Hi wenthena,
Yes, my son was one of those P2 who volunteered to help the P1 around in morning star.
So far, he still enjoys morning star - told me the only thing he doesn't like is when he has to do homework or extra work that is giving in morning star. So, I told him whether he goes to morning star or not, there is homework to be done. And, yes, they have indoor and outdoor activity everyday.
Any morning star kid staying in Punggol? Just wondering what is your arrangement to pick up your kid.. or if we can make arrangements taking turns to pick up the kids. -

Hehe! so coincident! My flat is in punggol! but due to time constraints, we let my mom take care of him and her house is within 1-2km of the school.. cos she got maid to have ready cooked food every evening. so after picking him, we'll g to my mom's place for dinner, homework etc..Hi wenthena,

Wow! your son is so nice to volunteer!
last year i was thinking to let him take a school bus straight home or not after school. but then, no one but the maid to monitor him til 7pm so better not.. scared he will be spoiled rotten and home work all not done and whole day watch tv, no meaningful activity. I am ok he play outdoors, board game or just socialise with people his age. at home, if no one watching, he tend to play games, watch tv ALL day and eat junk food. so hopefully, the structure of morning star will be good for him. and your feedback really eased my mind. I was so worried at first

hahaahaaa… so my guess is that your son takes the school bus to school too?

Hi wenthena,eetsc:
Wenthea - your son in morning star too? Looks like we have quite a lot of morning star mommy here.

Yes he is in morning star:) 1st day, they were paired with a pri 2 boy each to show them the shower time routine
So i probably seen your son but dunno which is him.
My boy is a big eater. like if we go out to eat say zhi char, he will need 2 portions of rice. But he seem not very keen on the canteen food. Everyday he have continental breakfast...
muffin and garlic bread. give him $2 he eat 4, give him $3 he eat 6... makes me think if the garlic bread is very small...
On Monday, yesterday, he went without a P5 buddy so I asked him if he managed. he said he just went with 2 other P1 SIY boys from another group and talked til it was time to go to hall.. but when i asked him if he knew their names he said dunno.. gosh.. he just chin cai go lunch with classmates and never thought to ask their names....
Actually morning star seem q good. the lil boy enjoys it there as compared to kinderland..
yesterday, picked him at 5pm, there were all in canteen playing ball.. kicking it around. Last Fri, they were playing monopoly.. so seems like a good mix of activity for their age.. Dunno if the homework kicks in will be as fun or not..
Anyone missing their boys? seems like 6am wake up, breakfast, rush to school, at night 6-7pm then see them again. Seem like a long time.
How is the fees like in morning star? Thanks. -

wenthea, your boy is sooooo lucky!! My poor boy have to wake up at 5.30am every morning to take the school bus at 6.10am.

-
Aiyo! The school bus arrives so early?
Have been asking my son to ask the buddy to guide him to buy the pupils’ diary. But my son keep forgetting. 3 days in a row already. So blur how to survive p1? Hahaha… -

5:30am is indeed early! Mine is only wide awake at 6:30am. Takes half hour to wake up but at least not much problem.
Eileen,
I bought the book on day 1. Cos he's at morning star, at 3:30pm no q already. So I just walked in to buy. But normally, very long q... -
eileenp, what about ask Morning Star to remind him to go and buy after lunch? hehheee…

eileenp and wenthea, don’t worry so much. Most P1 kids sail through most of p1 life "asleep". My son only "woke" up like in the last 3 months before P1 ended.
Lucky my son very good, call only he will automatically wake up to go and toilet to wash up. I will usually switch on the tv on disney channel in the mornings for him to watch and eat his breakfast. At least the cartoon can wake him up. hahahaa…
Wenthea, wow… your son take 30mins to wake up? Gosh… so, by the time he wakes up is 7am? Then rush to school via car to reach at 7.30am?
