but base on what you wrote, it seems more like both your children needs booster seats, rather than the other way around.

Actually, the lap part of the belt is very important. Without the booster, the lap belt will go over a child's stomach, which is still not very well-developed. The lap belt should go over the hips/top of the thighs for safety. In the event of an accident, a poorly positioned lap-belt could cause internal abdominal injuries.

well you did said that your DD is 137 cm, and DS is 129 and when seated both are about same height due to DD shorter body. -

I wonder how if you are over certain height like Yao Ming, the current safety belts also won't be safe on you, right? I mean, the upper belt crossing your arm pit... -

It could also be interpreted that DD has long legs. Actually, one of DW's colleagues commented when visiting us in hospital when DD was born, was that she's never seen a baby with so long legs...
