          Hi

Chiefy Kiasu, is the DVD+book you bought for older children??
For 2yrs old, what would be suitable? Would the san zi jing be too ‘heavy’ for a 2 yr old? Thanks.

              Hi Mincy,

Well, before the video, my hubby really read to her every day...with or without showing the book. The VCD actually is free with the book. I happened to buy this book while i was 30 weeks pregnant at a book fair but i did find it and more of such books at Union bookstore at Bras basah or the other chinese bookstore there.

Now i bought the whole series and let her see once a while but she is still interested in the san zhi jing (maybe thats becoz we did read to her)..
my hubby lets her play on our bed and just reads it whether or not she was listening.. after a few days, she wa watching my hubby's lips and was like trying to learn how to speak it! so maybe you shold start by reading to her first.. here is a photo of the book.. Hope it helps.. The barcode is ISBN 978-7-5315-4099-1 the last time i called to check if they have stock first. Costs about SGd5 each with free VCD. But we also have another set that includes san zhi jing, qian zhi wen (the thousand word book) and bai jia xing (thousand surnames) with CD and DVD but that one is more serious so we will let her see that one when she starts school (although she also watch it now..hahah)

I started with san zhi jing because its one of the easiest books to pick up yet its a very thorough ancient main book that teaches life's values and history.. easy for us to understand too... my husband says that ancient chinese studies the 4 main books first followed by 6 main'jing'

there are a total of 7 types of other books under this range and we bought all but not rushing into it yet..

I couldn't find this book at Union Bookstore or any other bookstore in Bras Basah yesterday. Altho' I saw other books in the series at other Popular bookstores. I'm only interested in the TangShi & the DiziGui or SanZhiJing ones, but those Popular don't have these 3 altho' it has others in the same series. ;(

I wonder who is the importer. Maybe can buy from them.

                Dear Parents,

I would also like to recommend 第子规, my 4 year old daughter has been learning at the age of 3. We would like to impart strong moral value to her, through this book, she gets to learn>

My DH also started to let my DD (6yo) reading this DiZiGui. He even went to search a VCD which is a cartoon type to let her watch.
Anyone knows whether any primary school teaches this DiZiGui?
Saw ZaoBao today that there is a 1-day training camp on this DiZiGui but that day crash with my DD's P1 orientation.

                      Hi Blurbee

Did u manage to find Di Zi Gui vcd in cartoon type? Am looking high & low for catchy tune of Di Zi Gui n Tang Shi. My girl prefers video than cd than hv bought catchy tunes cd fm popular. My girl loves the VCD of San Zi Jing that Chiefkiasu mentioned. She kept wanted to watch it daily and dance with it and knows quite a bit of phrases now.

                      Hi Chief,

Thanks for yr great recommendation. It’s indeed a good buy. Do u know they sells this catchy vcd in Tangshi & Di zi gui? or any other good vcd to recommend?
