But shouldn't it be teachers selecting the participants for maths Olympaid? Anyway when I asked DS, he said he never heard his teacher mentioned anything on this..Hi,
Any of your dd/ds signing up for the spore math Olympiad?
What if the training sessions clashes with the CCA? Is it ok to miss CCA during those timing? -
mum_sugoku:
Oh, but the email sounded like it is free for all to participate.

:scratchhead:
Oops. Don't think DS has checked his email yet. No wonder he didn't know anything  . (Luckily you mentioned it, I shall get him to check his email ASAP). Thanks langMum

Donโt think the Maths Olympiad training will clash with CCA as it is on a Tue, and I do not remember any CCA being on Tue. The consideration should be if your kid is interested in Maths Olympiad. Tue is a rare short day, when the kid can have a break, catch up on homework and rest. Unless the kid is interested, no point making him / her stay back in school for training at 4-5.30pm and end up reaching home late and tired.
Beauty is training seems to be heavily subsidized. Wonder how big is the class??? -
My DS said the bus arranged by school to Bishan for 3rd Lang is charging $35 each month. Am wondering if heโs got it wrong??? That slightly more than $8 per student each trip! The students are better off sharing a cab 4 to one.
Any idea if $35 is for entire year or each month? Thanks! -
mum_sugoku:
The pupils can take bus 158 to aljunied mrt where the bus stop
..plus they still need to walk at least 15 mins from the school to the nearest MRT station.. :scared:Augmum:
that 's why distance fr school is a Major consideration when choosing a sec school,
Esp those who needs to take public transport, cant even have the opportunity to sit down and rest during the journey home.
Parents with kids in IP sec schs would know how Terribly tired these kids are after a day in sch.
is conveniently located juz outside DHS mah. -
mum_sugoku:
yup, the sch would access and make the selection, of coz u can reject if u doesn want it.
I think for sports CCA, school will make the selection (instead of letting the student choose). Which is probably why they've got sports trials these 2 days..Mum_3:
New to the forum!
My DS just accessed the CCA registration website but was confused why there's no selection for sports? Told him to check with seniors or teacher tomorrow...CCA registration closes tomorrow, 11 Jan at 10pm! -

Yr FT is a nice Maths Teacher.

Haha, let yr son tells u stories abt him then, perhaps after several lessons.....
But he is likeable by most of his pupils. -
