What about English, Chinese & Science for DS2 (P4)? Any recommendations? DS1 attended English at TLL and Chinese at Jiang Lao-shi last year (P6) only. Before then, he did not have any tuition at all, as he is quite an independent learner. But DS2... Sigh!!!
Previously both my DSs went to Eduplus at ulu pandan for Chinise Tuition.
DS2 also went to Morris Allen at Jurong Point for English but DS1 only had Chinese Tuition.
This year we decided to move DS2 to Stelford/Confusious at Clementi Mall for both English and Chinese as it's nearer.
There is another one tuition centre at Clementi Mall but all classes are full except the GEP/high ability ones that need qualifying tests.

Oh, I am also eyeing Confusious/Stalford at North Point for DS2, as we stay in the North. Are these 2 schools good, in your opinion?

The other tuition centre that you mentioned must be Mind Stretcher. Same situation at Bishan Branch too!

Well Confusious/Stralford are using Wen Jiun, the top PSLE student from NHPS last year (277) as their latest advertisement. Apparently he has been with them since P1. Just don't know at which branch.

English - I heard from friends that Morris Allen is good. But have never sent my chn there though.

Chinese - there is a tuition on line (skype). Company is Trainwow Pte Ltd. Tutors are from China but very well versed with singapore primary curriculum. They follow very closely to the exam format and cover text book, composition and do assessment papers. 3 times a week, 1 hour each session. There is a free trial no obligation session. You can visit their website at http://www.trainwow.com Advantage is save on travelling time and cost.

I guess it depends on the branch and the teachers. I don't know abt kong zi (confusious), but during the second semester of P6, I sent my ds last year to stalford just to try psle revision for science. My experience is not very good - the teacher just go thru Jeremy's papers - u know - past year papers. make the chn do the paper for 1st hour, then 2nd hr just copy answers from answer key on the board (but I was thinking we all have the answer keys right?) Teacher only answer if students ask questions. Not much explanaton given, no emphasis of key words. So was quite disappointed - pulled him out after a month. But other branches may be good, I don't know.

Do note that Morris Allen is really enrichment, not exam oriented.

Hi vsk, your child still with the online (skype) tuition?
My ds started it last Feb while in P6. The teaching style suits him and he loved the classes. We are now continuing through in Sec 1.
Wonder if they were 'classmates' last year, haha?

Yes, Ds is still with Trainwow for sec 1. They are quite advance, preparing them since the holidays in Dec. Which day is his tuition this year? ds days are Tuesdays, Wed, Fri (used to be 7 to 8pm) but now 6 to 7pm. Due to school activities, changed many times already. They are quite flexible and understanding, that's what I like. Teachers are very committed too. One time, during thunderstorm in China, their internet affected, the teacher actually brought her laptop travel to another distant area so that tuition will not be disrupted (it was nearing psle last year).

Oh dear - what happens if the child is not free during those times? AFterall for secondary school, they quite likely finish CCA only around 6.30pm or 7+pm.

And it doesn't mention the timings for the Online Tuition available. And also not mentioned if it's for Standard or Higher Chinese?

The branch in Jurong west opp gek poh ss. Wei jun was DS classmate in P2 n P3 before he left for NHPS for the GEP program. DS saw him in that stalford branch when DS attended 10 lessions of sci revision just before psle.
