Any parent sending your girls by school bus to school in the morning?
Just realise school bus have been reaching school at 6.30am everyday, when the school required the bus operator to be in school only between 6.45 to 7.10am, operator told me before that sch wants them to be in school before 6.40am, which turns out to be a lie.
When confronted now, the operator said he will adjust the timing by being only 5 mins later.
Anyone like to help n share their thoughts on this?
Our children are force to reach school one hour before it starts and basically deprive them of sleep, rest and better concentration in school, pls help and advice what to do, thanks!!! -

There is limitation to school bus timing as most of the school bus needs to fetch the factory work after they drop off the kids in school in the morning

@jheng - so our children should be sacrifice so that school bus operators, which are appointed by schools, can make more trips n earn more profit?

From what I understand, most school buses in Singapore operate this way, maybe except some International schools who pay much more for school bus service. -

What does this have to do with govt? -
Well; if govt mandates that school starts at 8.00am or 8.30am and mandates school gates only opens at 7.30am or 8am then the school bus operator cannot pick our girls early and drop them off outside school gates right?
That way maybe pick factory worker first then students. International school starts at 8.30am. -

Orh. I would love for school to start later. That way kids won't have to be up at like some god forsaken hour. But I have the luxury of flexible working hours, many do not.
Unfortunately, that will solve 1 set of problem but open up a whole host of other problems. Like parents need to be at work by 8.30am so need the kids to be out of the house before they leave for work or no one to look after them. Schoolbuses will start charging a lot more cos they lose that additional income ferrying workers. Kids will reach home later as such may need to have lunch in school or have ultra late lunches. These buses will form part of the peak hour traffic adding to the congestion.
Truth of the matter is, it is more lucrative ferrying working adults then school children. At the very least, they save on the salary of the bus aunty. So these companies would drop school contracts in favour of company contracts if the timings clash. -
I think what the govt, MOE and principal can do is to restrict the school bus from coming to school just 10 mins before school start and not earlier than 20 mins

I am not really sure that students bus fare is not more than adults, sand even if it is so, students form the back bone of their business, they should not take advantage of student, our children like that
