YES! I look forward to any long holidays.. including CNY.. 😉

On a serious note.. CNY itself is not as exciting.. Maybe one of the most important factor is that we don't have 4 seasons.. hence, the feel of CNY itself isn't very meaningful.. Unlike in places like china where CNY = cold winter is over and welcome the start of Spring.

Another reason is that we can't play with firecrackers.. that takes away much of the fun.. the sound and the lights is an essential part of CNY celebrations.. coz it scares away the \"nian\".. an important element related to CNY celebrations..

Other then that.. SG CNY seems too overly commercialized.. not so fun already..

I do. Unfortunately, this year no celebrations for us.

I enjoy the preparations, the baking of cookies, putting up the decorations, preparing the new clothes and beddings, etc. I also enjoy the various gatherings, especially the mahjong sessions. Hehe.

No, we don’t look forward to it. My kids love the food but not the atmosphere.

I dislike CNY. Same routine, similar titbits, …and obligation to visit this relative that relative whom on normal days, don’t even call on one another.

I don’t look forward to the reunion dinner with in-laws and meeting pple I dun want to see. More comparisons over the kids…

Other than that, I enjoy CNY with my own parents, the food and the countdown on Ch 8.

Definitely looking forward to the break and catching up with family and friends but not to the feasting ...think the meals are too heavy, too rich and too much 🙂

This year, CNY came too early, no time to enjoy the preparation. Feels more rush, and feels more like an obligation to celebrate it, rather than to enjoy it.

Other than that, quite enjoyable when I see my kids enjoying it.

I don’t enjoy CNY because of having to put up with the pretence…only enjoy the break because it has been a little stressful since school reopened…badly need to recharge for CA1.
