      Hanyu Pinyin spelling is only for the first few months. They are tested on hanyu pinyin (included in CA, SA) so it is a must to know it well.

        Not to worry. I had the same thought initially. DS is able to spell chinese words in hanyu pinyin better than me now. And I was an A1 student in Chinese! He actually corrected me when I pronounced the words wrongly. I am truly amazed how he learned all these in one year. So let the teachers do their job. I'm sure they have their reasons for doing so. Don't πŸ˜“ over it. πŸ™‚

          Wah! Bigfoot! U A1 student for Chinese har? *impressed*!

          I still rem when I got C6 for my AO CL, the Chinese teacher was so glad to 'get rid' of me from the class!! He thks I 'ate too much potato' liao!! So a C6 was a fantastic score!!

          That's why for ds I must make sure he is in a CL environment from as young as possible!! πŸ™‚

            Jotter book, just to reconfirm the words are Covers, barks, cage, sleeping and concert for this Thursday spelling?

                  My boy is oso in 1F. The spelling words for this week are covers, dirty, barks, cage & concert.
