It's ok for sports like Table Tennis and Mindsports like International Chess. For Table Tennis, you should start in P1 else it will be too late! -

Any advice if there's a need to \"UP\" my chances of getting my child in by joining the alumni?

yup, he just submitted his form yesterday, dun know if he can get the time slot. I put 2.15 to 3.45 slot for him. -

Actually these modular programs are not 100% good as the instructor varies and most of the times the vendor will give us lousy instructor! On top of that, the T-S ratio is quite huge.
There is a very friendly chess instructor, Mr Lim that you might want to consider. He is also running the Queenstown Chess Club on Sunday @ around 3 pm. You can either do it at his house which is very near to NHPS or at your home. The time is flexible. Important thing is you can see result! Quite a number of our outstanding chess players were his students!
