        ER:

Fret not. I think most of us are facing the same situation. The school's expect the boys to be independent overnight. It's quite a big leap and I believe it will take a couple of months before the boys adjust.

Totally agree. All the IP kids are expected to turn independent overnite - how possible is that. Some boys can do it quickly, some can't. Same for hand-holding parents - also will take months to adjust but ultimately have to loosen the grip. How long can we hold their hands and help them remember homework, pack the right things, remember which forms to hand up, practise the right worksheets to ace that test/exam? We are helping our kids by letting them go and handle their own things. If they forget anything and get shamed/chided in school, let them learn. It's all part of this next growing phase called secondary school. We just monitor the deviations and nudge them back to the right course as and when needed πŸ˜‰

Snow Crystal, well said! δ½ ηœŸζ˜―ζˆ‘δ»¬θ‚šει‡Œηš„θ›”θ™« :hi5:

DH said...\"Let him handle his things himself la. No need to baby him already !! Sec 1 liao !!! He is on his own !!!!\"

          Aiyoyo.
One of my friends' DH said the same thing. Their son is in Q class now!
Another case: the son told his mum, I secondary school liao, I can take care of myself, and I want more privacy. His mum believed him. He is also in Q class now.
You can loosen your grip but you cannot just let go totally.

Is not easy for d boys to go Q class unless he fail his eng or Chinese Lang or MSG more than 4. But before that can happen d parents will already be in d teachers or consortium director's room \"drinking coffee\" . D boy will have to stop all CCA and other activities to go for tuition class given by the subjects teachers.
Unless d boy either can't make it or can't be bother then will he be send to Q class in sec3, but if he wake up n work hard he still can go back to IP in sec 4.

Parents will be surprise once their boy settle down after a month or so they will see how well their boy can cope with their sch works n CCA and muti task at the same time :salute: doing CIP , project work, joining exco in
              their CCA etc.

What we need to check on them is their computer time :frustrated:

Yes, please. I think it'd be a good idea for us to go into the test date link http://apps.hci.edu.sg/booking/day.php?day=18&month=01&year=2012 regularly to check if teachers have put in more & more & more & more test dates. I just found another test.. Math Class Test.. 1 Feb. >.<

DS just told me that his Music teacher wants them to learn 4 songs by heart and will be tested on 9th week... and told them that if they don't pass, they may be sent to Q Class.

This week is the 3rd week.. so I gather 9th week = 27th Feb week.

3 of the songs are the Chinese School Song, 华中葌 and 滑江纒.. :nailbite:

DS doesn't know what's the 4th song... anyone knows, please?

P.S. DS says today's pledge was in Chinese.. not all can remember the Chinese pledge.. so they pretend to know & murmur along.. LOL..
