      PM Lee defends Grace Fu.

      http://sg.news.yahoo.com/grace-fu-was-completely-right--pm-lee.html

The Ministers are stepping up the pressure in case Singaporeans start calling for more cuts. My opinion is that the current cuts are sufficient. I get his point about competitive salaries.

Somebody said their bonuses are in terms of months (as much as 20) ???

Also, why must highly paid then can attract talented people to run the country? Is running a country the same as running a company which profit making is the only priority?

I heard over the radio news that their pay is not like going for a bid, the lowest would get the bid. But we know, the lowest bid would be the one chosen when asked for quotations. Why are we applying double standards?

I agree with CSM that MPs is a "calling", a "privilege".

Those who are in for the money should not stand for elections in the first place.

Hence, to be competitive never come into the picture.

However, it is reasonable to offer them a reasonable standard of living, so that is why they are still paid much much more than the average Singaporean. How many of you there earn > 10k/mth?

If cannot attract \"talented people\", maybe they can consider hiring FTs :?

Try to be \"cheaper, better, faster\" too?
                http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1011584/1/.html

Why don't compare, yet still compare with top 1,000 earners' income?

🀷 Maybe for each mistake made, have their salary deducted :?

                Just my thoughts.

One person gives $1? Isn't it akin to giving donation to beggar? How rude! How can he even suggest something like that..!!

Well.. if he begs for it, I'll gladly give that $1.... No, not referring to PM.. coz I respect him and wouldn't even suggest any thing close to the ridiculous idea of giving $1 to the head of state.. He is no beggar ok!! it is so wrong to share such views.. What an INSULT!!
