Similar here:For CF lesson, DS's chinese teacher touch on how to write un-official/personal letter (私函)& official letter (公函)they will get to learn it in sec 2. Havnt touch on textbook & 西游记 yet :scratchhead:
For MA, they did a research on Greatest mathematician and went to e library to do research on varies mathematics books. :?
IH teacher told them to read History textbook on their own during CNY & as for geography, were given some notes & told to do research on e internet
ELL- mao's last dancer chapter 1-4 only leh...
LSS- given notes to read
Seems like there are too much internet research involved + logging in to school website to check hw & other stuffs... too much time involved with computers
ELL - Mao's last dancer whole book by end of the week. A test in Feb.
MA - research on mathematician and their virtues - e.g. perseverance
IH - test in Feb
西游记 - first 4 chapters.
He mentioned about another test in class; I can't recall what was it.
+ many CCA trials he has signed up. -
Re CNY celebration - circular is out in EMB re CNY celebration n 20 Jan. Check it out, dear parents.
Quote:
"Dear Gentlemen,
To usher in the Year of the Dragon, we will be having our Chinese New Year School Celebrations this Friday, 20 Jan 2012.
For the uninitiated, there won’t be lessons on that day, but attendance of the concert is compulsory. You will however be allowed to wear your own clothes, and it is expected that you dress up (not down!) in auspicious colours like RED or ORANGE. Wearing of black on that day is strictly not allowed, and you are also expected to wear covered shoes (no slippers or sandals).
As usual, you will assemble at the terraces at 7.20am for flag-raising, and we will have a short customary CNY ceremony thereafter. Be seated at Kah Kee Hall by 8am to await the start of the concert. Familiarise yourselves with the seating arrangement (attached), and look out for your respective class labels at Kah Kee Hall and LT4 (only for Sec 4s).
Ultimately, enjoy yourselves at the concert by fully engaging yourselves in the festivities and performance displays on stage.
In case of wet weather, proceed directly to Kah Kee Hall or LT4 (for Sec 4s) and be seated there by 8am.
At the end of the concert, you are highly encouraged to personally wish your teachers a happy Chinese New Year, and to return to your primary schools to do so as well. "

Does anyone know the cca trial dates this year?
My DS put his name + contact in a few CCAs he's keen to try out...
Yesterday, he received a call re trial for Canoeing - trial dates are 18, 19 & 20 Jan. Meet 2:20pm outside general office. Bring: PE attire (+ an extra set of clothes - DS bringing another set of PE attire), slipper, water bottle, sunblock, towel, ez-link (to take bus to wherever they're going for canoeing trial). All going for Canoeing trial will have a designated place (inside school compound) to put their school bags. I suggest they bring along a recycle bag or a small sling bag to put all those items when travelling out for the canoe trial.. and plastic bag as well, in case of wet clothing.
just now he received a sms + email re trial for Robotic Club - trial dates are 18, 25, 27 Jan & 1 Feb. 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Venue: Training Hub above Gym (near canteen). Bring pen.
That's all I have so far...
Anyone has news, please, from Judo..? Water Polo?
Is the canoeing trial on 20 Jan still on? The trial link to the PDF file does not have a 20 Jan date. -

I'm not sure.. I asked DS to try to remember to ask..
The circular also didn't state the going home time for tmrw, checked with DS these few days, he doesn't know.. luckily I have inside news from parents here. heeheehee.. -
DS went for Robotics trial yesterday. There seemed to be more than 100 participants for the first day alone. Apparantly only 10 new members will be admitted into the club. Aiyoh… Why make life so stressful even for CCA ?
