• RE: Mayflower Secondary School

      Refreshing this thread.

Am considering putting Mayflower as 1st choice for my son, and comparing against Peirce. His score is 224.

We missed the Mayflower open house so didn’t get to know the school more. Anyone with comments and feedback regarding Mayflower?

How is the school in teaching, students discipline, values ? Or any comments you might have. Thanks!

    • RE: 2015 PSLE Discussion and Strategies

      Hi,

I am looking for an English tutor to help my son who will be sitting for PSLE in October.

As his school already has many after-school classes, I don’t really want him to sit in tuition classes.

I just need the tutor to help mark and score Continuous writing/Situation writing practice paper he does at home. The feedback can be provided by phone or email so I don’t require him / her to come to my home. I am willing to pay reasonable good (I think) rates on a per-marked paper basis.

Let me know if you know of anyone who can help on this. A current or recent ex-MOE teacher will be preferred as the new English paper 1 format is different. Thanks!

Please PM me or let me have the contact of the tutor.

    • RE: All About Finding & Evaluating Tutors

I too am going through the process for finding a private tutor for my child. There are so many agencies. Arranged for one and she didn’t show up last minute!

Would greatly appreciate any parents here who would recommend a private tutor to us. My son is in P3 and we are looking for a tutor to help him particularly in English, if can cover Science and Maths subsequently will be great as well.

      Hi,

My son is in Sec 1 this year. Does anyone know when the students are suppose to complete their project (the one which they need to have a mentor with a team of 4)? My son’s team seems to be quite disorganized, not knowing when is the final deadline.
[quote=\"akaHCImomHi Parents,

HCI has uploaded the Sec 1 Language Symposium for Parents presentation slides on HCI website. As informed by the EL n CL presenters, HCI will roll out remedial lessons immediately after the talk to help the weaker students. :salute: As stated in the last EL presenation slide, NO TUITION required! :boogie:

Thanks, akaHCImom! 😃 :scratchhead: hmmm, I was told they are not allowed to. 🤷 Anyway, it's good news that they did post on the website afterall. ^_^

      They removed some slides.
Hi...where can I find the slides? MTIA
Hi, I can't find this too. Anyone got the answer? Thanks!
Went for sharing on HCI language last nite.very impressive slide and presentation. Just feel doubtful, can the boys cope with so many things, CNN, Times, History,4 story books,Chinese history, chinese textbook, siyouji, etc, etc.I just realised,my DS need time to diagest.looks like he is going to burn his weekend doing school work.

I wasn't aware of this event. Son didn't tell us, :(. Are the materials shared available somewhere?

If you are a HCI parent you should receive a letter or email to get informed. But you can also come to this forum nowadays... 😉
Unfortunately my son is not reliable in passing messages or letters to his parents. Was there an email in this case? I can't find in my mailbox. I have received emails from the school before such as for parents symposium. But not this one.
