Titank, I suggest u visit the showrm instead of the dept store as they hv better discount usually during yr end. They used to advertise on \"The Straits Times\" with the cut-out discount coupon of $10-$20 (sorri, cannot recall liao). U may want to call the store to check. Also, I suggest u get the L size one since the price diff is abt $10 I think. Visit the website : http://www.kinderfun.com.sg (web under construction now, v. little info).
We can go to the addresses below:-titank:

Hi KingRascal, u don't hv to soak the bag. Juz splash thoroughly with water, srub with detergent & rinse well with water again..there u are, a brand new bag! I usually wash 1-2 times a yr. Happy washing..
Hi pinky88
Agree with you that the SPI bag is good investment. Can I know to what extent can we get it washed? Did you soak the bag wet or merely wiping the surface? I do that once in a while this yr when he gets crapon marks on them. However I intend to have it a more thorough cleaning this yr end. Any advice?

//Moderator's note: Topics merged.
I am sure this topic has been discussed thousand times ... but can you let me know what is the pros and cons of the following bags?
1. NIVPAK
2. Impact
3. SPI
4. Deuter (Is this a ergonomic bag)
Which is the popular bag with the parents here?
Thanks. -
I have mentioned in another thread that my boy used SPI from P1 to P5. So it is a very sturdy and tough bag. Then we changed to Deuter (Size L )because the SPI bag was getting too small for his books. For Deuter, look at the school bag range as they are ergonomic.
We have not used the other two brands, so cannot comment. Hope that helps.

Thanks Kuzco!
How do I know if it is ergonomic for Deuter range?
Do they specify in the label or if there is a specific model I shd look out for? -

Abt the same here. My boy used his SPI up to midway thru P4 and then changed to Deuter for the same reason, and of course, it was starting to look too kiddishI have mentioned in another thread that my boy used SPI from P1 to P5. Not sure if the 'ergononic' design really helps but it sure is exp...like >$120 for basic models IIRC. Yes, it's rather heavy, esp for P1. My boy fell down while alighting from the sch bus once....broke his glasses!! :x -
my girl uses NIVPAK for 2 years since P2 till now but she does not like it due to the bagβs cartoon print. Pester me to change new bag nxt year. Frankly, i think the bag design is alright but it is too βlargeβ for her to carry when she was P1 so only let her use when she is P2.

Yes, if I am not mistaken, it is stated on the label that it is an ergonomic bag. I bought the Deuter school bag from Carrefour at Plaza Singapura. The bag can be found among all the other backpacks for school. Thanks Kuzco!

BIG THANK You for all inputs here!
I am about to get a school bag too
as my girl's bag was too big for her, and heavy on its own,
though ergonomic. So no choice but to use till end of year.
How about the POPULAR's brand and IMPACT?
YES! Will check out the SPI ones.
At least not so headache over so many brands! :faint:
