      JRlam,

You hv to check with your ds teacher what they are practising as different school uses different past year papers...usually a mixture. In any case, it is good for u to buy top schools past papers 2011. You can contact Jeremy at 98518226/98518229, he will deliver to your house. This is same supplier as those pushcarts. The whole set would comprise SA1 & prelim papers.

As for the past PSLE papers (5 yrs) you can get it from Popular bookstore. It comes in a booklet with answer sheets.

Let your ds practise top schools (2 years if possible) and PSLE papers as they will help him prepare reasonable well. Papers by top schools are set by experienced teachers who already know PSLE format (explains why their students do well). Do highlight those that yr ds got them wrong and go thru them before PSLE so that he doesn't repeat mistakes.

You might also want to check out kiasuparents thread '2012 PSLE discussions and Strategy' . There are good info that can help your ds do well for PSLE.
Thanks Apricot! Wow, that seems alot to do .. 2 years of Top schools' papers + 5 yrs of PSLE papers .... :slapshead:

Just to clarify, the PSLE booklet comes in 5 years series and the format is according to topics incorporating past PSLE questions. This is good for practice whenever your ds finish studying each topic. The top school papers can be used after your ds has completed all the syllabus for P6. Try doing these papers during June Holidays (this would mean that your DS has to study in advance) as time will be quite tight later.

Thanks Apricot for clarification. Also, really appreciate for introducing me to the \"2012 PSLE Strategy and Discussion\" thread. Read last few pages yesterday and got tonnes of advice! Will spend the rest of the year digesting all the valuable experiences and sharing from all of the 2011 PSLE mothers who had braved through the exam with their children and rewarded duly 🙂

Happy holidays, for a well-deserved break!

Yes, there is no hurry getting the PSLE booklets as the school will be ordering for the kids…most importantly get the past year exam papers. My son’s Math and CL tutors have asked me if I bought them.

              Synthesis:

Regardless of the cost, I am buying this latest mobile phone in the market.
It has had lots of advertisements on it.

              Answer A,
Regardless of the cost, I am buying this latest mobile phone in the market which has had lots of advertisements on it.

              Answer B,
Regardless of the cost, I am buying this latest mobile phone which has had lots of advertisements on it in the market.

Any parent can tell me which one is correct and why?

              Thanks a lot.

                Hi,

i was reading the few pages of this thread and came across this book: "PSLE survival Guide for the family"

Although DS is only in P4 this yr,( Opps! i am being KS again) but i felt it is always good to start learning early.
i am half-way into finishing this book and i must say it really helps me a lot in the right and less tedious method of coahing my kids in their studies. some part of this book is rather funny and i have a good laugh reading it.
i had also highlighted some important quotes for me to take note.
will get my DS to read after i am done.

                Thks for recommending !
and wishing everyone a very Happy Lunar New Year!!

Hi leexue_dwx, seems to me Answer A cos in synthesis, we were told to keep as close as possible to its original meaning. Answer B seems to suggest that the mobile phone had lots of advert in the market so you are buying which deviates a little from the original sentence. Do let me know if the answer is otherwise.

JRLAM, I swear by SAP Just Before the Exam PSLE Series. The Science, especially - by Jason Lim. I like it as it has self-explanatory notes to every option and so the students will know why they can't choose answer A as opposed to Answer B.

At times, I find that the Top School Papers do not give accurate answers and explanations and in the interest of time, it is best to do quality worksheets and assessment books. My take is not necessary to buy Top School Papers (unless your school aren't doing any). As for my school, they are using these selected Top School Papers (with proper answers) and it is frustrating to her to have to do the set twice, simply because I asked her to do it before the teachers.

For Maths, the A* Series only to be bought from Learning InterActive at Bras Basah complex is a huge help to her to practice those complicated challenging problems sums.

Hope the above helps you further.

I saw latest PSLE exam papers at popular…but published by EPH and SAP…2007-2011. The edition by EPH costs $4 with answer booklet but SAP one costs $1.80 but answer booklet is sold separately…and not ready yet. Which one will you buy ?

I bought those published by EPH & they are the one my DS's school teachers requested to buy.
