      buds,

      Good post!
      buds:

      1. Not all parents can teach.
ie. They may be able to teach but mebbe using their old-school style which may take longer for the child to understand. May pose more harm than help.

Me! Me! more or less confirm by my ds1.
      buds:
      2. Not all parents are cut out to teach.
ie. They may not be educated or not educated enough to teach their children.
Me! Me! I very educated leh. Cao cao got 1 degree, but cannot solve P4 math.
      buds:
      3. Not all parents can afford to teach.
ie. They both need to go out to work to support their family..... or needs..... or well..... even wants.
ie. or both parents are high flyers in their career or they travel for work often so no time to teach.
Me! Me! with all the housework (washing most of the time! :imdrowning: ), where to afford time to teach?
      buds:
      4. Not all parents want to teach.
ie. Oh.. they teach... but they go, \"Think if given a choice, i want to teach you all meh. Cheh.\"
Me! Me! i'll go,\"why am I studying primary sch again? boy, it's your job ah!\" 🤷
      buds:
      5. Not all parents care to teach.
ie. Yes, there are still parents in this day and age who believe the child learns everything in school..... from the teachers. They go, \"Ahh? We must teach at home oso arh? They go school learn everything oredi what..\"
if he doesn't care, then i am tempted not to care (oh man...how many times i used this threat...). :spank:
      buds:
      6. Not all parents dare to teach.
ie. They are educated.. knowledgable.. but they go, \"If teach wrongly then how?\"
cos sch syllabus so complicated nowadays mah...
      buds:
      7. Not all parents like teaching.
ie. Aaaah... these parents go, \"Please arh, don't ask me anything. Dunno anything please go ask your teacher(s)...\"
      ah...\"boy, plez don't ask me...go ask your teacher...free one (for sch)/already paid (for tuition/enrichment).\" 😓

Fwaahahahh, when in school I will reach the school early and start copying friend's homework, especially Chinese. I am still doing it now!

Copying intelligently takes skill, Funz! :rotflmao:

You know how teachers easily spot copycat work right?
They copy all the mistakes.. word for word.. stroke for stroke..
and copy them very neatly too! 😆

Due to both parents working, I find it hard to find time to teach them how to read… Both English and Chinese.

So what I did was to get them to use the iPad’s storybook Apps… first, the "read out to me" function, for them to learn how to read each words by following the narrator… Then, they will "read it themselves"… I guess the iPad is a great help…

Then probably you have to be more specific as there are a few theads existing on learning Chinese.

QUESTION : Parents, NOT Enrichment Centres... Are Key To Result.

CONCLUSION : (Some) Parents CAN be the key to results... but not all have the same keys.http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php

You analysed the issue well. :goodpost:
