I am thinking of registering my child for GP group tuition at LL or SOT. Which centre is known for producing grade A pupils? Anyone has any experience or encounter to share? :thankyou:

Centre does not produce grade ‘A’ students. Consistent hard work by student does.

If you like to see your child in a lecture with 100+ students and tutorial of 20-25+ students go to SOT. LL is so so if you can get a teacher or schedule that does not change. Class size is 10-14 students. They tend to dish out notes which can be dated. They have 2 JC teachers that teach, but if those teachers cannot teach their class in school, how can they tutor? (I say cannot teach in school because their students go elsewhere for GP tuition).

Please note: teaching and tutoring are two very different things.

Many other tutors around. Do a simple online search. Make phone calls. Talk to tutors. Ask about pedagogy.

Anyone who says I guarantee ‘A’ grade must be durian seller. All the best.

                hi,

for lanuages, I prefer enrichment centre as I believe they have a system and hence more structured...that is my personal views 🙂

I like that \"durian seller\" label.... it's true I have had in my search for tuition help for my PX... have had a couple of \"well-advertised\" centres throwing promises of A grades at me...

well wat to do... i think they are more concerned about the commercial aspect of the trade rather than education itself.. that is why i noe refuse to put my PX in those Humongous centres.....

My daughter attented tution by HCI/RJC/NJC teachers who teaches at Tution centre.

This is what she feedback , it does not mean teachers from well know JC are able to teach....

I guess most important is the chemistry between the student and the tutor... :hi5:

My daughter likes the tutor to spoonfeed her with all the information....

She does not want a tutor that teaches like her school teacher....

I suggest before your child decide on the tutor , ask the centre for a trial lesson....

The student knows best as they are the one absorbing the knowledge....

My best friend sends her 2 gals to School of Thots. She is very pleased with her decision & the gals are learning very well. I have seen the materials, very good. Unfortunately long waiting list!

Most of my friends send their kids to Learning Lab. There is another centre formed by ex-Learning Lab teachers called Creative Campus (also very popular).
