A. That's why Enrichment Centres are the easiest way out.Wah-lau! Some bits in this thread has really OT-ed by miles! :offtopic:
Aniwaes, here's my take..
1. Not all parents can teach.
ie. They may be able to teach but mebbe using their old-school style which may take longer for the child to understand. May pose more harm than help.
2. Not all parents are cut out to teach.
ie. They may not be educated or not educated enough to teach their children.
3. Not all parents can afford to teach.
ie. They both need to go out to work to support their family..... or needs..... or well..... even wants.
ie. or both parents are high flyers in their career or they travel for work often so no time to teach.
4. Not all parents want to teach.
ie. Oh.. they teach... but they go, \"Think if given a choice, i want to teach you all meh. Cheh.\"
5. Not all parents care to teach.
ie. Yes, there are still parents in this day and age who believe the child learns everything in school..... from the teachers. They go, \"Ahh? We must teach at home oso arh? They go school learn everything oredi what..\"
6. Not all parents dare to teach.
ie. They are educated.. knowledgable.. but they go, \"If teach wrongly then how?\"
7. Not all parents like teaching.
ie. Aaaah... these parents go, \"Please arh, don't ask me anything. Dunno anything please go ask your teacher(s)...\"
QUESTION : Parents, NOT Enrichment Centres... Are Key To Result.
CONCLUSION : (Some) Parents CAN be the key to results... but not all have the same keys.http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php
B. That's why Enrichment Centres are making BIG Bucks.
C. That's why Enrichment Centres are always there for those who need them.
D. That's why Enrichment Centres are the saviour not only to students but parents too.
E. That's why Enrichment Centres are delivering more than the school.
F. That's why Enrichment Centres are entrusted for this critical task.
G. That's why Enrichment Centres are here to stay........ -

Was just about to pop a pineapple tart into my mouth but stopped in time. I think there should be a warning somewhere to tell people that some posts are really choking hazards.

Yah!! Absolutely!! There should be some icon that marks a post as \"Read at your own risk\". -

Glad that you like the method. You are right.. it is more like the unitary methodI downloaded a few free comic ones but Ah Boy not interested as the themes are those Chinese classics, he says boring (even with the recorded playback).
limlim, or anyone else came across interesting ipad stories for potato kids, please share. Or like MyChildren suggested, split a new post about learning Chinese - hopefully can garner as good response as the learning Maths. We did start some discussions in the 'P5' section last year but no more updates.
PiggyLalala - if you are still reading this, your solution to the overlapping triangle is cool ! More like the unitary method. thanks.
This method is very useful and easy to understand. When i mentioned about solving simultaneous equations in my earlier post, it means solving simple simultaneous equations like the solution that i have posted. All the numbers involved should be whole numbers, no fractions or decimals. Ds1 solved almost all the problem sums on ratios, fractions and percentages using this method. All the best to yr ds's PSLE this year.

I was coaching my younger one on the importance of dwg models when my older one who did his psle in 2010 interrupted....
\"but math models are just a physical form of simultaneous eqns...\" :skeptical:
