          who agree on this calculation??
One person gives $1? Isn't it akin to giving donation to beggar? How rude! How can he even suggest something like that..!!

Well.. if he begs for it, I'll gladly give that $1.... No, not referring to PM.. coz I respect him and wouldn't even suggest any thing close to the ridiculous idea of giving $1 to the head of state.. He is no beggar ok!! it is so wrong to share such views.. What an INSULT!!

I think should be size of bonus; there was no change as claimed by WP (as they need time to study the final proposal to be able to offer their views in Parliament), but rather attacked by Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC MP Hri Kumar Nair & Minister of State (National Development and Manpower) Tan Chuan-Jin for not disclosing at the feedback session with the review committee and focusing on gamesmanship in Parliament.

did u know what the MX9 was based on as well ?[/url] :scratchhead: :scratchhead:

                Giam kena grilled 😓
WP used whatever information they could get hold of, and it seems they did not dwell so deep as to how MX9 is determined. Hence, DPM questioned WP's use of MX9 as a bench mark to base their ministerial salary calculation on.

Yeah, so what is MX9 based on? Was it mentioned after that?

I'd say WP has unintentionally dug out more stuff, a reminder that there are more that we are not aware of. Sniff sniff...

Kudos to all Singaporeans who voted during the GE. I'm so glad that we voted in 6 opposition members and 3 NCMP, into Parliament, to give so many alternative views. Otherwise, it will be a lopsided Monopoly by the governing party.

NCMPs don't get voted into parliament, they are appointed as the 'next best losers'. If there were no opposition winners at the last polls, there would still be 9 NCMPs.

If there is one thing I take away from this series of exchanges, is that WP is scary good…at politicking. Much better than the PAP.

I think its a bit rich (pun intended) for CSM, who is personally wealthy, and doing this as a hobby almost (he can always retire back to Taiwan if he tires of this game), to call upon the younger ministers, many of whom have been salaried folk most of their lives, to give up big chunks of their pay.

The reason given by the MIW for the high pay, is to be competitive, to attract talents from the private sectors to join politics. These pple have the talent and the experience, which means, they are probably already very rich to begin with. Hence, they will be of similar standing to CSM, isn't it?

As for the young pple, what talents do they have other than good academic results? Do they have real experience running big companies? If not, then, what justifies their high pay?? And, if they are not from the private sector, but instead groomed within public service, where is the justification for competitive salaries? Would they have earned so much had they joined the private sector? It is anyone's guess. They are not \"tried and proven\", so to say.
