During the open house last Nov, one of the P's answers are: \"if you don't have confidence in RV, do not choose RV!\" It is kind of challenge, however It is still OK, as we know, the P is directive-styled.

During the first Dialogue for Sec 1 parents, acutally i was surprised once the parents were informed \"no other questions but IPAD\", the P keep telling \"trust me, trust me\". It is still OK, we prefer to trust you and RV despite we are more keen to know IPAD's DEMO as a teaching tool.

But, I cannot accept the PTA president's \"get the kids out of RV if don't want to participate!\" Is it true???!!! If so, how dare he is!

RV, could you act more professionally?

which session? PTA? I was informed the PTA session for \"all year 1 and new members\" is on 11 Feb...

I thought so too, and my DS has just submitted the form.
Wonder did we (new members) miss out anything?

No, the session I was referring to was for the Y2 parents to meet regarding the ipad stuff. That was on 13/1/12, 6.30pm.
The coming PTA meeting is on 11/2/12. Both are not at all related.

I think it is fair to remind the parents not to ask questions not regarding ipad. Afterall, the session is especially for parents to voice their concerns about ipad.
I don't understand why you feel that RV is not acting professionally. If you are referring to the PTA chairman's comment, then it is not fair to blame the school.
I felt very sorry for the P during the Y2 parent session. The parent was unbelievably rude and the tone he used was totally unacceptable. That is why the PTA chairman was so upset and emotional.

I disagree with the parent. He/she should not set a bad example for their children. When an organisation want to implement a programme, it can't possibly change it just because a few individual oppose. That said, however, i agree that it is an art and skill to be able to convince everybody for a new programme that may receive some opposition like this. I guess the school will need to convince the parents and kids how ipad will be useful in implementing some of its programme.

Is there an ID tracking for ipad? if there is, maybe it can prevent theft. maybe, the school can stimulate the students creative and innovative thinking by posting the first project and problem. How can we prevent theft for ipad?
So far, they only said to keep in the locker when they go for pe, recess etc. So, Weihan, do you have any idea how to prevent theft?

Hi octopusmum, I’ve ordered the one that cost $916. Now I don’t want to think about ipad 3 or I’ll get more white hair for Chinese New Year.

Hi Sall. I am not really a hi-tech person. From what I know, some smart phone can track easily since it is a piece of high tech equipment, the chip inside may have a special ID that has wireless radiowave tracking and you know the position once it is switched on. The same may be true for ipad. If that true, it is quite dangerous to steal these equipment as the police can easily find the location and catch the thieves.

I find this page on how to locate a missing iphone

                    http://www.apple.com/iphone/built-in-apps/find-my-iphone.html

Perhaps, you can passcode lock your ipad so that it is totally useless even if someone steal it.

Some people are saying that Apple can really track a lost ipad if they want to. Or minimum, someone said that if you install a locator software, you can know the location of your ipad. But of course the thieve can be smarter and wipe out all your softwares before he try to use it again. But it is still a viable extra protection.
