I remember last year when my DS faced a problem in getting hmt workbook due to shortage, I figured tt certain sec schs will hv a small population of hmt pupils eg mission schools. So I walked to a nearby mission sec sch in my neighbourhood, told the security tt I needed to buy from its bookstore and true enough, there were many available.

So smart!! Why never I thought of it!! :slapshead: I can actually get it from ACS or MGS bookshop then. Convenient for me too. Thanks!!

I'm just asking to see if any of your ds also have this problem. His team members have not completed so they can't comment too. My ds already emailed his RE teacher but no reply yet. He only has RE once a week. And deadline is drawing near. He was just telling me yesterday it's so impossible to cut down his proposal to 500 words because then, according to him 'there will be no substance' anymore. He said his background information is already 215 words. Thought I just help him to ask lor.

Also, he was telling me that not only must they submit their own proposal, by the same deadline, they're supposed to choose one of the team members' proposal, to improve on it and submit as a group.

Yes, the RE broad theme is the same. But they're supposed to focus on one aspect of the theme, that's what I heard from my ds. It's good your ds meeting with this team mates. I prefer that way. But ds way of discussing with his team mates is over the internet - wikispaces. Personally, I prefer face to face interaction. But I let him be lah - if he and his team mates prefer that way, so be it. (I'm just stating my personal preference, I'm not imposing on him).

I thought ds said there is CNY celebration after 11.30? He took some snacks from home and said it's for his celebration in sch. He also said there'll be lo-hei.

My DS class only had 1 lesson on RE thus far. Their lesson falls on a monday of which they had missed in Week 2 n will miss in Week 4 for CNY. I think e boys r very confused n they don't get to see the teacher to clarify.

Which comes first - there's individual n there's group proposal. DS also blur. I think r tr also had not enough time to go thru in details with e class.

Somehow, DS would only find out more and more things, as the deadline drew nearer and nearer!!! :yikes:

You are a very good DM.

as you can see from your own post, he has control in many aspect already, => he is growing to be independent nicely.

no longer primary sch, parents must slowly loosen their grip. Our boys are no longer kids, they are teens . Let him find out by himself, it will benefit him much better and help him faster. As parents, our role is now just advisory...... in other words, we are now calarfares.. :shock:

Agree. By nature most teens would not like their parents to be involved too.
