Does your child attend tuition & what are the subjects? Which is more advisable? Group tuition or 1 to 1 tuition?

Just wondering if anyone has to buy alto recorder for sec 3 music? apparently its the bigger recorder than the standard soprano and will be used by some teachers in Sec 3? my next door neighbour’s daughter (ex sngs) was raising funds for some school project and was trying to sell me her recorder for $3. (new is $19) Said she hardly used it and i guess can wash and use next time? My dd in Sec 1 so wondering if should buy and keep?

In that case, I have to get 1-3 individual tutor to cater to individual weakest subjects. I doubt there is 1 tutor for all subjects. Thanks 😄

I understand that whenever St Nicks girl came out top in 'O' level exam, the school will celebrate this achivement by giving free ice cream to all students.

I also heard that on top of producing two 11As students, St Nicks has 98.2%
of their girls eligible for Junior College.
                Congrats! :xedfingers:

Hi everybody. Does anyone know if this school is taking in many chinese scholars to boost the academic results? I heard that many schools are doing that now. I noticed that these people joined us only in sec 3 so they are not 'genuinely' produced by the school. Then it is nothing to feel proud of liao. :frustrated:

They are like foreign players 'bought' to play the olympics for us to win medals. But at least singapore train them hard to win medals. But with 2 to 4 years of education in singapore and getting 10A1s should not be something we should feel proud of since they are imported to make the school stay at the top. So fake, isn't it?

We should support our local students instead of making foreigners our stars in newspaper too. 🤷
