Oh no.... Cos I see quite a few Rulang students in my area, so I think might be able to have a chance. My mum's neighbour grandchild is in Rulang too. Her parents work as PV. I wonder if I can do anything at the moment?
Since you are not staying within 1km of the sch, it's diff to get in even in P2B (via GRL or PV route).bagmanic:
My son was borned in Nov 2008, his pri 1 will be in yr 2015.
I am aiming at Rulang PS but this sch is hot cake in Jurong. I am staying within 2km range. When can I start to join in as volunteer? Where can I enquire about these volunteering things? From cc? -

Yes, move ito within 1km to have a chance in P2C or P2B (if selected in PV). But very risky. :moneyflies: -

Hi Panganita,Hi, my son is born in 2007 and should be registering Primary 1 next year. The only school that is within my vicinity is Nanyang Primary, which is unfortunately the popular school in this territory. I have tried being a parent volunteer, but got rejected. Now my only chance of being in P2B is to be a Grassroot Leader, can anyone advise
(1) under the Hollan-Bukit Timah GRC, how long will we be \"observed\" before being a Grassroot Leader?
(2) How long do they require you to serve as a Grassroot leader before they acknowledge you as one?
(3) will I have enough time to do so?
You have a slim chance, not impossible thou.
One can be an Observer for min 3 months before promoting to EM.
You will need to talk to the Chairman personally ASAP.
Btw, if you are not within 1km of NYPS, then no chance. -
Can a GRL (CCC Member) in GRC X qualify under Phase 2B in GRC Y (where he lives)?
Hi everyone - gong xi fa cai!
This thread is really long and I got confused. Please help me out!
My husband is a CCC member at Mountbatten SMC but we live at an address in Moulmein-Kallang GRC. Would our kid qualify for 2B in a school in Moulmein-Kallang GRC like RGPS? What sort of document does my husband need to get? Does the letter from PA entitle him to be an \"active community leader\" in both Mountbatten and Moulmein-Kallang? Does he have to tell PA beforehand that he wants to apply at a school in Moulmein-Kallang, or is it just a generic letter to say \"this guy is an active community leader, please let him apply under 2B in any school in Mountbatten or in the GRC where he lives\"?
Thank you in advance for your help. :?: -
Hi, my daughter is born in 2007 as well and should be registering Primary 1 next year. I am considering to join Bishan-Toa Payoh Grassroots for phase 2B, as i am interested to register her in CHIJ -Toa Payoh. I lived < 1Km.
May i know what is the process to join as Grassroots and whether am i still on time? -
THC:
This is provided if you sign up today, you are an observer the next day. But it is not so. The PA screening/admin process can itself takes up to few months in some worst cases I have come across. So in my opinion, there's really no chance of getting what you want.

hi guys
I am new to this thread. After reading many of the pages, can I confirm that
1) you must first move to that school’s GRC before signing up as a grassroots leader at that GRC?
2) Then we must sign up with the NC/ RC at least 2 years before P1 registration (taking into consideration the screening time, observation time, actual volunteering etc)?
Some questions:
1) What is average time commitment needed to become an EM?
2) What is the minimum requirement for someone to apply as an observer/EM? Educational level, profession etc?
3) In your opinion, is it easier to be a grassroots leader or a PV at schools such as RGPS / SCGS?

In a nutshell, you are too late to try for the GRL route.
