i also cant u understand y
my ex maid can b so yaya. esp when i m not ftwm n can replc her anytime. she jus think we wont fire her cos i alwaz tahan her -
My current maid also very yaya now, keep telling my children she is not very well and want to go back soon. I was angry with her the other day over other stuffs and i warned her if she keep telling my kids that i will not hesitate to buy her a ticket. I told her the studentcare and childcare just opps my block, i will not have problem without her around (of course i bluff her lah cos my work required me to travel). Anyway, she is now kwai kwai and did not mention anymore. However, i still decided to send her home due to her attitude changed. Taking a fresh maid with working experience in hometown.

I think only a very few employers are lucky enough to have very good FDW.
And the majority are not lucky enough. Sigh -

Hi minnie, sorry to hear about your maid. BTW, do be mindful that working experience in hometown is very hard to verify.
I took in maids with supposedly at least 2 to 3 years experience in their countries. Turns out that they lied. I only discovered that when they started working for me, because there is no way they could have had the working experience they had and not be able to cope with a small house, without even having to look after children. And of course, when I asked them in greater detail about their so-called working experience, they started to fumble, even though they were v confident when I interviewed them.
So you really, really have to keep both eyes open. Because the maids will lie to get a job here, and many agents won't bother as long as they get the maids hired. -

Hi hquek,hi happyH,
not sure where yours is from. if you have to send her to another airport, you always have option to buy a ticket that involves transfer. Works well with indo maids.
Mine starting going off mode once we confirm letting her go. I told her quietly that I can either buy her a direct ticket, or let her transit in JKT airport for 1 night. After that, her attitude was markedly better.
pardon me for asking a (sorry if silly!) question, why are they afraid of having to do transit? -

It's true that they lie, including age. Mine is younger than age stated in bio and i suspect she has no experience in hm ctry. Agents help to lie or close one eye.minnie:

Not too sure, but heard their customs are pretty thirsty for money. Knowing that this person has returned from overseas work, she would be flushed for picking. But this is me dreaming only. Or more likely, it's uncomfy to have to stay there overnight.

Sigh... talk about lack of luck in getting a helper.. i think im an ultimate case of no luck with them!
I am sending my maid back to agency today... this is most likely going to be my last maid unless my hubby protests against it...
For the previous maid, I had sent her back cos she was too lazy... for the 4 months that she was with me, she would slack in every item... for each schedule, she will cut corners everywhere... even tho my work schedule stated scrubbing of bathroom tiles 2x a week, after 2mths in my hse, mould started appearing on the walls... for each laundry cycle, there will be a 2nd quick rinse but she totally cut that off.. Since my child attends full day cc and the purpose to have a maid is to keep the house clean (as my child is asthmatic) and have her cook for us, i see no purpose in keeping her if she cant even do those basic house keeping duties..
To that, I took an ex spore maid... who worked in a muslim house before.. she was great in the first week, but started slacking in the next weeks... during cny, she didnt listen to my instructions to not give food to my boy unless she had asked me first... and took offence with me telling her off... first, she wrote a letter to me and my hubby, threatening to cut herself... when i questioned her abt it... she said its cos i had told her i would send her back if she can't follow my instructions.. i told her im telling her to buck up... n to listen to instructions... however, the straw came when i caught her smoking this morning!!! Yes, smoking! Prior to this morning, my hubby had suspected it bfore, cos he had stepped into the living room 1 night, and smelt smoke frm the kitchen... my hubby is a smoker, but he avoids interacting w my boy when he does so... however, this morning, when i walked into the kitchen, i smelled smoke and it was v intense... maid was in her toilet, and soon after, came out.. as she goes abt doing her chores, i smell smoke from her, and immed questioned her abt it... she at first denied it, but i smelled her clothings and there's no question abt it... my decision was made there n then... there's no way im going to keep her!
I called MOM this morning... cos' i felt cheated by this maid... before i hired her, i told her clearly that my boy is asthmatic... i tot of blacklisting the maid, but all the lady could say is... \"can u ask her to quit smoking?\"... i then said, but the fact is i told her my boy is asthmatic and she had stolen my hubby's cigarettes to smoke? the next reply is... \"u have to email to the work permit division\"...
once again, being a FDW employer in singapore is a big pain in the butt... we are so helpless... and there's no policy guarding us at all!!
now i really need to think how to manage w/o a maid all of a sudden.. i have night concalls every day.. and its going to be a strain to wash n iron clothes... esp my boy's uniform nightly and still remain sane for my hours of concalls!! :imdrowning:
