Talking about moxie, my ds doesnt have any even though I half expected him to have, based on the info being shared here. Seems like this year they took out moxie for P2?
My boy in C4 also has not recd the list.S6169:
Hi, P5 parents,
Did you get back any lists for 听写和默写. This year I did not notice my ds got any HCL 听写和默写. -
FQW:
I saw some of the resident children learning taekwondo in the evening at the clubhse. Maybe check with the MCST.Considering that ds is unlikely to carry a saber in adulthood, I thought that taekwondo maybe a more applicable life skill.

Yup, ds joined PH at the most appropriate timing. Last yr, instead of struggling with preparation for any exam, ds spent a few months just learning to write legibly, especially for hanzi and reading loads of storybooks. All these won't be possible if there're exams.

Didn't know they have taekwondo lessons here. Thanks for the heads-up. Will recce for one once ds's done with the Swimsafe programme - 3 certs obtained, so just 3 more to go. -

He's One Passionate Taekwando Instructor, And If I'm Not Mistaken, the Only Dan 7 in Spore (at Least During my Kids' time .... Errrrrrrrrr .... More than 5 years Ago?
). Hundreds, if Not Thousands, of Toh Yi Kids has Been Trained by Him, Including ALL my 3 kids.
I Always Admire His Patience with the Kids, And His Passion for the Sport.
Can U think of Any Grand-Dad Who's in his Seventies and Still is So Flexible that He can Still Do a Split?
And Fees is Cheap-Cheap Too ....
We Used to Pay $24 per Term for Sat Nite Lessons. -
FQW:
It's totally hard to believe P1/2 kids are so relaxed :yikes: ...my son had 黙写 when he was in P2 as well as CA/SA...I still kept all his exam papers.

Funx3,
You mean the old and fit looking instructor I saw during BBQ nite is a 7 dan exponent of taekwondo? Bet he can down me in under 2 sec. Sat nite is good leh. But would it overload ds already overloaded weekend? Maybe I go ask him for his opinion first.
janet_lee,
Have to agree that ds has it easier compared to his seniors. Even the afternoon sessions for P1 & 2 is good cos it allows him 9 hrs of uninterrupted sleep daily which seems to be enough for him. -

Thanks, Jennifer!!cool_hi:
I admit i was very emotional ..
Understandable. Glad to know u r feeling better today.
Hope u & your hubby arrive at a good solution.
After I calmed down,& analyse, suddenly realise why I was so emotional about the whole matter, & so concerned with safety.
My hubby was knocked down by a truck at 15 years old, when crossing the road, on way home from school. He almost had to amputate his left foot, but the doctors tried very hard & after a few opeartions, finally was able to use skin grafting etc, to 'connect' foot back to his leg, but only left with 2 toes, thus he walks with a slight limp & can't walk long distance.
He used to be very active & was in school team for volleyball, so obviously it was a big blow.. & he also missed many months of school, thus his O level results was badly affected(parents can't afford tuition for him) & thus went to a poly course which he did not like,& did not manage to complete his poly..
Only after he started work, then he took up poly business course, studying part-time for A GOOD 5YEARS!!! It was very tough, & a lot of his classmates drop out, but he persevere. Then went on to take his degree!
I am sharing his experience, just to highlight to others, an accident can either kill you, or even if you survive, it can ruin your life! So as a mother, I am just doing what I can to prevent accidents from happening to my kids..I definitely don't want my kids to be knocked down by vehicles when my maid bring them cross the roads, & thus prefer small bus which can pick my girl from void deck..thus frustrated & dissappointed when I am obstructed to change bus...& worse, to be misunderstood when I share my bad experience here, with good intentions, in case other parents are thinking of changing bus.
Till now, my hubby's leg feel pain almost everyday, & the pain has been getting worse with age..He ever said that when it really gets too painful to bear, probably he will opt to amputate it..
Anyway, this will be my last post on this matter..& will refrain from posting in future, unless neccessary..
Just hope that people can spare more thoughts for others & don't put other people's concerns or worries down, esp if you don't experience the same problems/worries..
Thanks to all, for your understanding, if u did understand!
Thanks!! -
