Hi Dorisp…since Jan 2012, had been educating my DS to sleep on his own. Initially still alrite, now he had been waking up in the middle of the nite, walking to our room asking DH to pat pat him…and wants round 2 of his milk…

When check with DS in the morning why still want to pat middle of the nite, DS mention scared. DS says there is gh**t, coming from the cloud then through the window to catch him…aiyo, he is so creative and descriptive…

Now need to educate him on science and supernatural issues…

some kids have very good imagination.
my 10yo sleeps with nightlight, but not my 6yo.
any shadows cast by the nightlight, the 10yo can give all sorts of intepretation.
luckily school is tiring enough so he sleeps through the night. i just need to stay with him (surfing net on my laptop) while he tries to fall asleep.

My DS also has mons*** and gh**t stories when asked why he needs my company at night. Yes they can be very creative when the need arises.... :slapshead:

A friend laughed at me when she heard my boy still needs me at night as he is turning six this year.....

Am learning how to teach DS to be brave and not afraid of the dark.....after all he will be going to P1 next year....better learn to be more independent... 🆒

Hello everybody. I thought I should pour out my concerns too. My DD is a dec baby n I find her so different from her elder brothers. Shes sensitive but very caring and loving. I worry constantly as to how she will cope in P1. Feeling so blue thinking about it. sigh.

                  Hi LadyinBlack,
                  welcome to club 2006 :rahrah:

My DS is november child.. sometimes he is such a baby ...
my boy is still a gullible little lad...worry for him and yet finds him so cute and childlike.

My Dd very sensitive and soft. If I scold her she react like baby. Talking like baby. son was so matured in k2.her grandmother let her to do whatever she wanted. Sometimes I disciplined then she cried ended in vomiting. So I just left. Now she became a pamper child.another thing experienced with my son he has lack of confidence. So I scared to punish her more . Don't know how to bringing up the kids.

I also try not to punish my DS too hard such as using canes or shouting at him loudly cos I know that by doing so can cause him to lack of confidence. Usually I'll try to talk calmly with him but if he still misbehave, I'll just send him to naughty corner or take away his favourite thing. Usually this works better than time out. But the thing is my DH is quite harsh on him at times my DS misbehave. He said sometimes soft approach doesn't work. It's really tough bringing up kids nowadays.
couldn't agree with you more coolmum552.. since i withdraw DS from CC and put him in kindergarten, DS is having more \"free time\" at home and these few days, he kept quarrelling with my maids :slapshead: ...
Kids are so smart that they know who they can bully... but when DH and myself are around, he behave like a lamb 😓

oops forgot to welcome you onboard :rahrah:

Hi smartmummy...ooh, tell me about it...girls are such joys..boys too in their own ways..but since my girl is a dec baby and being my youngest, I feel shes easily bullied and is so ultra sensitive. I keep wondering how shes going to cope in p1..when being in k2 is ardy a challenge...i guess im being a mum! 🙂

dun worry too much. she will learn to protect herself

Reiner, Crystal away for biz trip..for the FAT..just hope end of 2012, I can trim my waist 1cm down rather than up.

Speed up writing?? I would say practice make perfect. Can double the effort by writing the spelling words on exercise book. Each time just write about 3 times. I did that with my DS and his writing is improving. As they write (consider penmanship training) and read as they write those spelling words. There is once I even get my DS to write sentences on those small note book with narrower line.

                        For example, read \"a c c i d e n t\" (as he write) spells accident. One stone kill 2 birds.

My DS phonics class now teaches sentences forming and punctuation. Soon they need to write a 3-4 sentence compo.

Hope 1 cents worth of sharing helps..

count me in for the \"fat\" mummy club 😢
