All About Church/Clan/Society Membership

Thanks guys for the tips and advise. I certainly would try to be as active a member as possible, not just for the primary school registration sake. It is also a good place to network and gain a much better understanding of the hokkien culture and heritage. Definitely worthwhile if taking a long term view. Good for the kids to get these exposure when they are young too.
Wish me luck and I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed. ( am still searching for 2 kind souls to be my referees) -
Hi,
Can any kind soul advise me what do they mean by ‘member of the church’? Does it mean that once we r baptized means we are the member of the church? I heard different versions like ‘we need to donate $ to the churches on a monthly basis’ or some is that we need to b baptized n attending church for a certain period in order to qualify.
Unlike all CHIJs, we just need to show the baptize certain from either parent to qualify phase 2b. -

church membership means you have to be an officially confirmed member of that church or denomination, eg Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc = you have to be a believer, complete the membership course, baptised and be in communion, the so-called donations is 'tithe' for which a true believer will understand the significance of it.Hi,

in usual case, how long does one need to go though all these courses & baptism?

Hi, I would like to join as a member of Singapore Hokkien Huay Guan. I need two existing members as referees before I can join as a member.
Are there any existing members here who can help, or anyone know any existing members.
Thanks in advance. -

Even if you are a church member, I doubt you are assured of a place. I was told you still need to go through balloting.

If qualified, it allows you eligibility for phase 2B, together with PVs and grassroot leaders. If more applicants than vancancies, there will be balloting...
cheers! -
