I think the point is that if the tender process for this project was compromised as a result of the affair, the two guys would have breached public service rules. If the affair had nothing to do with the contract, then, as far as government procedures and rules are concerned, it wouldn't be considered 'misconduct'.verykiasu2010:

That's criminal, just like how illegal immigrants who offer sex in return for getting let off the hook, get charged.
Similarly for those motorists who try to bribe our traffic officials who haul them over for speeding offences.
For this instance, it might not have looked so explicit at that time, but surely a case can be made that those were certainly her intentions. -

If she was just having extra marital affairs and no biz deals or money involved, she will probably not be hurled to court and no one will ever know her identity; but the 2 chiefs are different, they are civil servants and will be penalised by their companies even if there is no bribery involved.
Even if the woman got off scot free after wrecking other people's families, her colleagues and even bosses may look at her differently now. It's hard to respect someone who has no respect for herself.
Not penalised by companies. These two cases will go to PSC if disciplinary action is taken. -

once Ah Gong make sure govt intervention dig out info hard, dig out her background & everything about her, is a matter of time before truth gets exposed .... she'll be summoned to court. has turned into a high profile police investigation case.
I wonder how much investigations would go into digging info from other departments and the trade - would someone start saying things like, \"I like that also kenna, then so and so also like that, why he never kenna?!\" Ooops, accidentally dragging other people in? Then need to dig deeper and deeper ...? Until such times too many people kena, then end up like Taiwan Chen Shui Bian's case? Only speculating.... :siam: -

Actually, up to this point in time, the only confirmed corruption that has taken place is their moral corruption with the woman. There is no confirmed $$ corruption per se yet. And if going by some of the views exchanged in the YSL thread, shouldn’t EMA be considered private affairs?
These 2 guys aren’t even MPs, no gag orders, and are suspended from their jobs. Talk about accountability … who has to account more, these 2 guys or the MP? -

But to give u a better understanding.
If they r not charge under PCA for corruption, their ' serious personal misconduct' will be referred to PSC for disciplinary action.
Nothing more to do with CNB n SCDF.
They hv been permanently replaced as chiefs of resp. agencies.
They r as good as gone wrt their civil service careers. -

The problem here is someone officially lodged a complaint against a tender malpractice so it is placed under business crime investigation unlike the rumour in YSL's case, no one raises it as a crime....just KPO talks so far. So the 2 cases are DISTINCTLY different in that light. -

I said b4 in dis thread dat I find d manner in which dis matter (of d 2 chiefs) was handled n released to d public while investigations were still ongoing at odds with SOP.
