I will choose Rulang.Dear all,

What i know that Rulang is a drilling school and their CCA robotics not bad and plus skipping.
But depend whr u stay also? -
Thank you dear KS parents on your kind advice between the two schools and also for clarifying my understanding on Phase 2B eligibility vs. PV vs. 1km, 2km range.
I am now clear that living within 1km will not put me in Phase 2B cat. automatically and am also sad to learn it’s now too late (despite 2 years away for actual school registration for my 2007 piglet) to do Grassroot leader work.
What can I say? I can only say OMG, is 2-year period not enough in getting ready for an entry to a school? ( BTW, since I’m new to this KS forums, may I know how I can trace my earlier posts to see if I have any replies there. I am too confused to remember the forums I visited. Sorry for this silly question. But thanks a lot for your patience and understanding.) Have a great day KS parents… -
Just pray hard you get the PV. Grassroots work ain’t that fun either and u would need to burn your weeknights and weekends when you are actually needed at home.
Moving 1km near the school already helps a lot. Good luck! -
Dear mummies and daddies
Need your advise on which school to choose. I can register dd at either NYPS or St Nicholas, both 2A phrase. Distance is not a concern as we are staying somewhere in between. Dd is really lucky as both are good schools but we are not too sure what are the criteria we should look out for. -
Lucky you! Both are SAP schools so no concern. St Nicholas is a Catholic and all-girls’ school so personally I prefer that. If you have a boy and wish for the two of them to look after each other, then put in NYPS. But if you want to think further for your grandkids, then maybe NYPS will be a better idea.

since your child is a girl, let her go NYPS.
she can enter NYGH next time, at minimum 250 (if score not much change), opposed to outsiders entering minimum 262.
even if she goes St Nick Sec for IP programme, she'll also need minimum 250 to enter. The plus point is next time, your grandson can enter NYPS.
if she choose St Nick, your grandson can't enter NYPS under phase 2A.
NYGH IP Sec programme is definitely more established than St Nick IP - need time to prove herself. For A level, Hwa Chong JC is an excellent school. New Junior college from 2017 still need a period of time to prove herself.
if your daughter can enter NYPS now, and if she's able to meet minimum 250 psle next time, it is as good as preparing a smooth straight path for her, all the way to A level.
however if her score is < 250 but high enough to enter St Nick O level track, she can go St Nick Sec next time. Your grandson can continue enjoy NYPS privilege. Since St Nick is a full school,, your grandaughter has the option in future - choose St Nick or NYPS. -
Hi Cherrygal and phtthp,
Thanks for your advise. You are right that if I would consider for my grandchildren, NYPS is a better choice. 30 years down the road, My dd might thanks me for that. :boogie:
But heard that NY is very competitive and need high end tuitions for all subjects to survive. :yikes: I am normally very busy so a bit worried that I might not be able to coach her everyday. St Nick, on the other hand, seems relatively relaxing for the first two years and going to the secondary school should not be too difficult.
Do you have any ideas how is the culture in NY? Are the teachers caring and teach well. -
perhaps parents with kids currently in NYPS & St Nick may advise you better.

Thanks for your advise
