Hi All!
Went to Popular Bookstore to get the above book for P1 DD2 :roll: ..Yeah, DH was a bit \"superstitious\" that it is not so 吉利 to 买书(sounds like输) during this CNY period :skeptical: ..But no choice cos DD2 was lacking behind in HYPY and she even needs help with her homework in the 活动本!

Looks like I can’t wait till June to get Chinese assessment books for my daughter. This morn, I was planning her revision for month end test/weekly revision. Found that I need 2 assessments…the one by SAP is too difficult to be done now. Going to check out this title

I was at Bukit Panjang Popular last Sat...so used to visit IMM store to get my assessment books, so I find BPP not sufficiently stocked :sad:

Couldn't find that Super Scholar title, so made do with that new one written by NTU...promo going on for 2A. http://i42.tinypic.com/207uved.jpg\">

I got the P1A for DD2! Apparently DD2 needs more Chinese assessment books than P4 DD1 :sad: CL Teacher feedback that her HYPY is weak! :faint:

Hi Champion,

I used Super Scholar for her last year and found that it's not bad. Daughter has difficulty doing the 词语 section in her weekly tingxie section. Thanks for recommending this title...it's not easy nor diff.

Oh yes, when the 'B' one is avail, pls let me know ok ? I pestered the Popular staff for the second part and she told me not out till later part of the year...that made me a little unsettled bcos I am not used to getting the A book alone.

My DD1 is in P2 and going to have chinese picture compo test next week.
being non-chinese I get clueless about how to teach her.

any body can advise a good compo book which has chinese keywords given to practice writing compo…?

right now, I have started to go thru 2 compo’s from ocean publications book each nite and ask her to translate it in English.

Then find the keywords which I think teacher can give and circle them for her. But this takes time… do you think this will work for her?

Pls advise how you all are working with your DD/DS?

I did enquire about pic compo for P2...was informed that students need to write 5 sentences using the helping words.

So far, my daughter has not done any CL compo. The one compo book I have is this one by Learners...there are helping words below the pic.

will try to get this book… my DD1 is going to faint to see her assessment book pile increasing everyweek…

poor kid…so many things to cover…so far she is ok to cooperate with me as I push her to read chinese compo’s and find meanings of words using electronic dictionary…

she was made to write a compo with helping words and picture yesterday at school… the theme was chinese new year…


lets work hard and just hope for the best…

I pity my daughter too...but given her VERY SHORT memory, I have no choice but to get her to revise every night. Other than Wed/Thur which are days to learn her spelling, we either do comprehension, cloze, grammar/vocab.
