My daughter was presented with the following question?

Which of the following system(s) function(s) when a person exercises?

      A: Circulatory system
      B: Digestive system
      😄 Muscular system
      😧 Skeletal system

      (1) C only
      (2) A & C only
      (3) A, C & D only
      (4) All of the above

Does the digestive system stop functioning during exercise?
How I wish my digestive system can stop functioning when I exercise. Then there will be no more food for the muscles to convert into energy and my system will be forced to burn down my fats to convert to energy.

Unfortunately, all digestive systems continue to function all the time, supplying food to different parts of the body. If the food is not used, some will be stored as fat (the problem that I am facing now). So I try to beat the system by going on diet and exercise at the same time, hoping that there is not enough food for conversion to energy and some of the fats will be burnt. Unfortunately, my body cannot burn the fat fast enough and half way through the exercise, I felt weak and giddy - not enough good \"i.e. sugar\". :slapshead:

Will 10ml of water in a test tube freeze when the test tube is placed in a beaker of ice into which some salt is added? See attached image for additional details.
Sorry cannot see any image. However, it should be possible as I have done it before.

Most of the time no. However, it can still bear fruit if fertilisation has already taken place long before the stigma is cut.

Can a flower still bear fruit after its anther is cut off ?
Definitely yes if it has female reproductive parts. It can receive pollen grains from other flowers of the same species.

            Thank You

                Hi,

I need advice on the following question.
                http://i44.tinypic.com/2j17fup.jpg\">

The answer is as follow :
                (a) Some tiny water droplets will form in the inner surface of pot A while nothing changes in pot B.

                (b) Pot B is a control to show that the liquid was not from the air in the plastic bag.

May I know how does the tiny water droplets form in pot A? Appreciate very much any advice. Thank you.

                  Hi

The plant releases water through tiny holes in the leaves called stomata through a process known as transpiration. The water vapour condenses into water droplets when it touches the cool surface of the plastic bag.

                  Best wishes

                      Hi,

I need help on another question.
Q (a) How many stages does a plant have in its life cycle?
                      (b) Name the stages.

                      The answers provided :
A (a) It has three stages.
                      (b) Seed, young plant and adult plant.

My question is : how about seedling? Is seedling not one of the stages?
                      Shouldn’t it be 4 stages : seed–> seedling –> young plant –> adult plant?

                        Hi

I have a copy of PSLE Science Guide, old edition (MC) and according to it; a seedling refers to a young plant.

So we can say that the life cycle of plant consists of three stages.

                        Best wishes
