Thursday is all exercise day? I didn’t know that. I thought last Thursday was a once off event.

Hahaha !!! I asked my DS: \"So you all just keep jumping? \" Then he rolled his eyes! :rotflmao:My DS told me they are having \"Jump Jam\" on Thursdays.. somekind of Jumping Exercise??!... :scratchhead:
Anyway, jokes aside, I kinda agree that this years comms need to be improved... :frustrated: -
Oh, no wonder i hear my kid telling me got jump jam, didn’t know it was extra exercising.
Here I am abit confuse with the maths subtraction method taught, the textbook shows the normal method which we used to learn last time, but now they are taught different way to do. I mean for the subtraction sums when we need to do ‘borrowing’, we usually cancel the number on the left and add a small ‘1’ on the right number. But now they cannot add a small ‘1’, they need to cancel the number and rewrite as 15 or 16. My kids got to redo all the sums in the activity book and with ‘see me’ from the teacher. No choice but to re-practise all over with my kid…
Just confuse on why textbook method cannot be use ? -

I refrain from teaching my P1 kid too many Maths theory now... In case the school teach differently now.
I think must be \"on the ball\" to reinforce what was taught in sch.

Yes P2, can forget about advance teaching the kids since even the textbook method is not being used... -

I think it is good to open to different methods. Eg. Some children cannot visualize the \"make ten\" and \"split ten and ones\". My daughter can only do the normal addition/substraction (they called it inchworm) . I try to teach the so called grasshopper method :), but she cannot get it and often cannot fill in the blanks after the \"split of numbers\". -

My girl who was P1 last year had MAs too... so i think it's for everybody....Yes I remember last year they gave a topics to be tested. Hopefully they will give this year too... Chinese AA is next week...any1 knows whether there is English AA this term or next term?
I also find it funny that only p2 and p6 have term 1 ma and ca. seems like the rest of the standards do not have.
