MummySTay, I really enjoyed your poem. I like that you managed to pen down in a few stanzas many of our feelings over the last few weeks. 🙂

        friendship:
After O level results being released, 4 girls till today are still maintain as good friends since from primary 2. They are living in the same neighbourhood, graduated from neighbourhood pri sch. After PSLE, one girl went to RGS, 3 girls went to girls' sch which produce straight 11 A1 student. This year, 4 of them meet in RI(JC).

During CNY parents' networking in pri sch, one the mothers whom her daughter was not in RGS commented \"After 4 yrs of studying in different sec sch, 4 good friends meet again in Y5. I paid $23/mth for sch fees. Whereas you (RGS mother) paid $100/mth for sch fees.\"

When you heard such sentence, how do you feel?
        friendship,

School fees at RGS isn't $100 per month. It's $300 per month for those who do not qualify for EESIS. I believe your dd didn't qualify for EESIS so her fees are a hefty $3,600 per annum. Given that school fees at non-independent schools are only $23 per month (<$300 per annum), you might want to consider switching schools. I'm sure these schools would welcome your dd with open arms and place her into the best class with the best teachers. They would also invite her to participate in their Math Olympiad training classes and any other leadership positions available. She would become a big fish in a small pond. There'll be no need to worry about biasness and unfairness because all the opportunities will go to her, unlike her current situation where there are many small fish in a big pond and everyone has to compete against each other. They might even devote a large chunk of their resources to her so that she can be groomed to be the top scorer in their school. Something worth considering especially as the system is deemed to be so biased in your eyes.

Dear firefly, generally, our DDs feel very blessed indeed to be in RGS and they enjoy the RGS experience tremendously. Please tell your friend to be rest assured that her DD will be in good hands.

Just take a look at our RGS girls - Choco, a child and fix_you, to name a few. These girls are so wise, positive, caring...on top of a lot of other good qualities. I feel like a proud parent whenever I read their posts.

It is a choice your friend won't regret!  😄

                MummySTay:

                Different secondary schools

                Bring different experiences
                Along with different challenges.

One breezed through to JC 1
Sweat and toil for the other 3.
One paid fees of a hundred,
                The others paid only peanuts.

                Are the parents here complaining?
                Only one keeps on frowning.
We had all thought hard and long,
RGS is where our girls belong!

We have said this once before,
Even twice or three times more.
                There's no need to compare,
In good hands, our girls will fare!

All our advice and kind words,
Here goes in, there comes out.
Friendship thrown right in our face,
                What a disgrace! A disgrace!

                We believe in RGS,
It'll bring out the girls' best!
Truly a cut above the rest!

WOW... MummysTay so poetic :salute: ... Hope Ms.Tay will post a poem or two, at the RI thread too... 😉

She is very poetic indeed :imcool:. ..I m not tt talented  can I copy and paste ? 😆
