            hihi,

Since birth, my son’s eyeballs seems to be quite close towards the nose bridge. Have consulted PD before, and she said it is fine, because the baby’s bridge will get narrower as he grows. He is not 2 years old, he has no problem aiming for an item that he needs to pick up. but we still find he looks a little "cock-eye", and afraid it might be case of lazy eyes or something.

Anyone has any similar experience? We thought it might put us more at ease to bring him to a Paedetric eye specialist earlier, anyone has good doctor to recommend?

            cheers!

A few yrs back when my son was about 4-5 yrs old. I had the same concern as you so I brought him to see an eye specialist in sgh.. He said as my son nose bridge is wide so it looks as if he got 'cock-eye'. Now my son is 10 yrs old and his eyes position looks pretty ok.
Well I think lazy eye is different from 'cock-eye'. For lazy eye, one eye ball will move much slower then the other.. well what we mean by ' cock-eye' are eye balls that are quite near to the bridge then stay at the center position .................

                  Haiz,

DH just told me yesterday that he suspects DD has problem with her eyes. Myopia maybe??

Don’t understand why kids nowadays have to wear specs at such a young age.

Need to make a trip down to the optical shop for her eyes check.

                        Hey vlim,

yes yes! That was exactly what my PD told me. she said that nose bridges for young kids are wider, and the bridge will grow higher and narrower as they grow up, and she told me is nothing of concern. However, I’ve met a few mummies recently, and all of them made similar comments about the closeness of his eyeball towards the nose bridge, therefore it just struck me that it might be good to affirm this earlier than later. I do hope my son is just like yours after the eye doctor check.

Thanks full.cream for the article on lazy eye. It seems like a lazy eye might not necessarily be a deviated eye.

Don’t really know any good paediatric eye specialist, saw KK have a child eye clinic, will be checking that out soon.

                        thanks both!
