Hi Janet,
Agree, now a days I also pester my DD to study and revise at night.
Yesterday, she practiced multiplication and division by 4 and 5. Then wrote 1 english picture compo (1st draft which I have corrected to be re-written again, hopefully today).
Then even though she was sleepy, I begged and coaxed her to read thru 2 chinese picture compos and find the key words. Also looked for word meanings which she was not sure of…she slept at 11pm+ looking very tired…
Now a days she gets tired easily as morning are also busy attend CCA or supplementary class assigned at school…
Just hope that she can endure this schedule as the year has just begun -

I will get my daughter to sit on my lap to revise something. Then at 4, she will take her nap. She has remedial on Thur/Fri, so on these 2 nights, I will just make sure she finishes her school homework at night.
She sleeps at 11 everyday. If she doesn't take her nap, there is no way I can get her attention at 8 to do anything. -
Wow Janet,
looks like all parents are on the same boat!
No choice I think, My DD1 had 2 consequetive days of maths diagnostic test. I did not even get to know what would be tested as the teacher just put the header as Mental Sum1/2/3/4 in the test schedule.
Just got a letter from teacher with her HP and email id, will write to her later for clarifications…
sigh…if P2 is so complicated…then wonder how P3 would be?? -

How blur of me...didn't realise your daughter also in P2.
Dare NOT think of P3...struggling as it is :imdrowning: her moods are the toughest to manage. Compared to my older one who is in P6, they both have such different characters. Daughter's school is more ON compared to my son in P1 back then. -
ha ha Janet… no issues…
now a days so stressed up DD’s with weekly test and homework assignments… I feel very soon I will forget my own name…
really blurr now a days too…It feels like yesterday was Monday and now today is Friday??(where did the in-between days go…??)…
Weekend is even more busy…trying to catch up with the left over homework…next week have picture compo for chinese…need to brush up on vocabulary for different topic…ayyah…stress…stress… -

Don't know about you...but I prefer weekdays MORE. Weekends now are filled with tuition, finishing up homework and revising...I don't have any break from them. Hi Mummies,
Can I check with you what kind of 听写 your kids have ? How do you coach your kids in their spelling ? -
For Chinese Spelling, let the kids practice writing it and get familiar with it.

Can teach them to remember by breaking down the words into 部首

For P1, I used that 习字本 to get her to practise...but this year, she is having slightly longer stuff. Can't use the P2 book :moneyflies: kinda wasted bcos a lot of 字 can't be found inside. So I'm using the big square exercise book.
