2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take
-
Hi dorisp, thanks for your reply.
I understand I will be placed under 1-2 km if balloting is required.
I forgot to mention I have a 3 yr old ds too. Though he can go to st gab( father is an old boy) but would be good if both kids attend same school. So a bit torn.
Can anyone advise if chij oln is a good school? How about st gab? Can’t seem to get much information on st gab. -
Hi! My daughter will be registering for P1 (phase 2C) this year. I’ve narrowed the choices to 4 pri schs. Appreciate comments/advice on which u think we shld go for:
Within 1km:
(#1) CHIJ Our Lady of the Nativity
(#2) Punggol Primary
1-2km:
(#3) Holy Innocents’
(#4) Xinmin Primary
#1 - sure get in. But I’ve a younger son (4 yrs difference) so he’ll hv to apply another pri sch.
#2 - is #1 or #2 better academically?
I think #3 & #4 are the more popular schools, but I stay 1-2km. Shld I even try going for them, and if so, is #3 or #4 better?
Appreciate any comments to help in our decision. Thanks! -
Hi tlmum,
I believe Punggol Primary is better academically than Nativity. Punggol Primary is also co-ed - so that solves your problem with your younger son.
Don’t think you stand a chance for Holy Innocents or Xinmin. Both require balloting <1km for phase 2C. -
hi,
i’m sorry if i post this in the wrong thread. I tried using the "search" button and it lead me here.
Wanna ask about St Andrew’s Junior. If grandparents stay within 1km, means, i have to register under phase 2C, between 1-2km? what are the chances like? -

Agree with what you said. Punggol sounds like the logical choice. Will try to find out more abt the sch. Thanks!

Risky. Past few years data seem to indicate the balloting for 2C might be at the <1km range instead. -
My hubby is acs primary old boy and on alumni.
We stay within 1km walking distance to maris Stella.
Which is better choice? -

Hi,
Been reading as much as I can & would appreciate the advice - especially regarding the registering & re-registering part!
- DS is under Phase 2A(1) with Henry Park
- We're currently staying within 1km of ACJS & are also Methodist Church members, so can qualify for Phase 2B with ACJS.
- Our preference is for DS to go to ACJS as we feel it may be \"safer\" to be in an affiliated school in the long run.
I've read a couple of posts about registering first in earlier phase to be safe, then de-register & register again at later phases. So roughly like this?
1) Register DS in Henry Park first.
2) By 2nd day of Phase 2B, ascertain chances of possible balloting within 1km range for ACJS. Station one parent each at both schools.
3) If chances of getting into ACJS good, the parent already stationed at Henry Park to de-register kid with school (they allow that? no questions asked?)
4) That same parent to zoom down to ACJS to register DS.
Am I being kiasu here? I've looked & re-looked at past balloting data/history & it seems Phase 2B within 1km for ACJS is quite safe. Or should I have one more back-up should our zooming around fail?! :faint:
Thanks very very much! -
