last time when Mr Chiam was ousted by Chee Choon Juan, there was no by-election right and somehow Mr Chiam was allowed to retain his MP seat.

MP will lose his/her seat if he/she ceases to be a member of d party on which ticket he/she was elected.

CST remained elected MP under SDP after ouster as SG; subsequently re-elected under SPP ticket.

The following are potential candidates from the various quarters to come and contest :

YSL

NS
TJS ? TKL ? TCB ?

Desmond Choo PAP.

I hope NS will really join in the fight. Don't think she can speak teochew though.

Though NS is very popular island wide, she is still young for HG residents.
TJS wants to be leader, he may contest as an individual. Instinctively, I think WP candidate will win. During this time, I think LTK & SL will visit home to home to apologise & garner support (though PM may not call for by-election).

From now till by election, WP can buy time to select replacement candidate and introduce to the ground when doing home visits.
