Ok, not that nice a pic cos I did not dust these fellas with icing sugar and dress the plate up with some clotted/fresh cream and jam.

But boy did the kids take to them. These are basically little balls of pancakes. I filled them with banana and nutella, and a couple of them with kaya for my helper, can't go wrong with that. Choice of filling is up to your imagination. But to make these you need an ebelskiver pan and it is kinda time consuming.
Funz, what pan do you make your ebelskiver with? It looks like a bigger version of Takoyaki! How do they taste like?

The pan looks like the one in the link above.

It is pancake presented in a different way. The batter is basically like pancake batter. To make it fluffier, I beat the whites separately. With pancake you dump the fruit or sauces or jams on it after the pancake is done. With Ebelskivers, all these are sealed in these little balls when you cook the batter. Makes it easier to eat.

You can try Icing Room (tat cake shop that lets pple decorate cakes themselves). They sell some edible decor items. Quite a few branches around - Compass Point, Nex etc

2nd choice would be to buy plastic animal figurines from Kiddy Palace (they have farm animals and dinosaurs etc), wash them and put them on the icing. Think your kid would prefer this option coz he can play with them after eating the cake.

You are a nice mommy to even think of doing this! πŸ™‚
