I heard this school have overwhelming P1 registration rate in senagkang area, so transferred my son to it next year P3, teacher told me he was put in P3I, so anyone know is P3I or P3A a better class? How rivervale primary school arrange the P3 classes? Thank you.

                  Hi

Would like to get you views on the strengths of Rivervale and Nan Chiau…any parents with kids in these schools? Workload? Environment? I stay Rivervale, considering for my child starting Pri 1 in 2014.

My boy just got into Rivervale Primary this year. Heard that this is 2nd most popular school in Seng Kang after Nan Chiau. From this forum, the number of posts would tell the diff between these two.

Nevertheless, time is still most precious, so I still enrol my kid to Rivervale Primary which is closer.

Am starting primary Maths group tuition also, prefer students from Rivervale Primary. Anyone keen to join 😛

am a parent, my child is in pri 3. On general, feel that the school’s standard is pretty high. A school which is hardworking and hungry to produce and show good results.

Let me share my feel on all the subjects standard:

The CA1 Maths , Chinese is difficult. But for SA1 all subjects are not easy to handle.

                      1) Maths Paper - High standard, equivalent to most top sch exam papers. But this sch has a lot of problem sums, 9 questions. So not easy to score, u really need to know the subject well to score n finish the paper on time

                      2) Chinese paper - The sch chinese std is very high. The paper setting is like higher chinese in some SAP sch. A lot of section. My child can do very well in other top sch paper eg rosyth , henry park but did not do well for his own sch chinese paper

                      3) Sci : very tricky. A lot of application and thinking qn n Sect A and B. Pitch standard to the top school too

                      4) EL : I have yet to compare with other top sch papers. But pretty similar to Rosyth papers.

I think student who come into the school really must do constant revision and work
hard. Thus the school PSLE results is pretty good for a young sch in SK. Let’s work hard together!

Both sch standards are high. But of course Nan Chiau has a strong history and heritage. Work load is not relax for River Vale. Environment ok. CCAs not appealling yet, mayb lack of space. A competitive environment since it is young estate with more educated parents nearby
