I want to share this story, i dont know how about other parent look at this issue.


I enrolled my 2 yrs old daughter to this Shaws at Katong and the reason i want enrolled her is because i like the curriculum and the environment. I was so excited abt it but at that time i am still bot sure abt the sch bus issue cos they have to check.

The principle said that they have open house on following Mon so she said that in order to secure the place i have to register etc so i went back on fri night and told my hubby and we went down the next morning (Sat).

I call up the sch this week and check what is the news for sch bus.
The sch bus fees is $210 is a bit too ex for me but never mind since i like the sch i got no choice. But i realise that my 2 yrs old dd will be in the sch bus for 1 hr plus and i find is way too long for a 2 yrs old child so i called the principle and told her abt my concern and she told me this is the best she can and ask me to face reality, i was surprise to hear this frm a principle. I told her never mind i will see what i can do so intend to fetch my dd myself but the timing crush with my elder dd timing so i cant do that but to chose another sch for my younger dd.

I called up this morning and talk to the principle abt it and ask her do not bank in the cheque etc. cos we decided to withdraw it out cos since i have no way out frm this and we dont think is good for a 2 yr old child to spent such a long time in the bus.

THe principle said "ok, Fine but Eileen is not very nice to do this cos we reserve a slot for you and you tell us you not interested"

I told her " well you as a educator and a principle i hope you can see the point that is not very good for a 2yr old child to take such a long journey". and she said " ok whatever. Pls return the uniform"

I felt so angry but at the same time i feel so lucky cos my dd is not with this Shaws cos what her concern is not "About my daughter but only her sch"

U know for pats schoolhouse at Siglap the principle Eileen, when i told her i want my 2 yr old dd to take sch bus she look at me in surprised and said are u sure so i ask her what is her concern? she said she feel that she is a bit too young to take sch bus and she suggest why not you just fetch her for the 1st 3 months then later u see how so that she will feel better aft settling down at sch not too much for her to cope on the emotional part. Just for your info i din sign her up aft that but i an gg back to her liao.

I want to point out is such a big different between this 2 principle.
One only concerning abt her sch
One concerning abt my daughter.

Parent have to look at this when you look for sch.
the passion for the children not just only your sch.
attitude change when parent decided not to sign up.

OMG...visited Magdalene KN n is definitely not impressed with them. :gloomy: Solely becos of how rude the principle was to her visitors. I called them last fri n expressed my wish to visit the KN today but was told it was not necessary to make an appt as long as I come within the time given. However, when I turned up @ the office, that principle immediately asked me if I made an appt. cos she does not have the time to entertain us. Hello....I did called to make an appt but was told 'it was ok to come anytime'...now she being so rude really turns me off. :mad: Cannot believe this is how a principle behaved. :stompfeet:

I just went to Children Vineyard Montessori Church open house and i really like Judy very much and the way how she plan her curriculum but i am a bit step back cos is a brand new school so i don’t have any example to see. They only have 2 teachers and 2 of them will be floating around to teach as well so is really small but Judy said will get more teacher if the students groups grow.

Can parents here advice me what if you were in my shoe.

May i know where is children vineyard and is this a child care ? How much do they charge?
