Thought of doing volunteer work on weekday mornings. Don’t know what kind of volunteer work is available at this time and who to contact. Any idea?

If you have any religious faith then approach your churches, Hindu and Chinese temples, mosques etc. Also, schools that your children attend need reading mum, reading dad etc.

I think volunteer work for school children or for older people is pleasing one.

I think volunteer work BY school children for older people is pleasing. πŸ˜‚
It is always gratifying to see your kids extend help to the elderly :imanangel:
my blood boils when I see some children shunning elderly people.

http://www.nvpc.org.sg/pgm/Stack/NVPC_F_Stack_SubPage.aspx?PID=50, and they are linked to http://www.sgcares.org/public/other/SGCares_P_Home.aspx and also https://www.sggives.org/SGGives_P_Home.aspx

imho, a simple start can be like this activity, especially for young teens.

hospital and hospice also need volunteers to talk to old folks who are lonely and need a companion to chit chat, or help them do simple body exercises, or organise a session let them sing their beloved oldie songs from 1960s, 1970s, make them happy, cheer them up, etc.

animal lovers can volunteer help out at SPCA -
bathe cats, bathe dogs, clean their mouth, feed them, use comb brush their fur or bring them do some exercise, help to train intelligent dogs.
