All About Full-Time Maids

Posting here to see if anyone have suggestions on how I can mitigate my case with my agency.
My last maid (4th in the year) had stolen ciggies and smoked. She is ex sg maid and i had taken pains n many calls to interview her before hiring her. Likewise, when I hired, I had instructed agent to check and double check many times before i decided to take her. Still, the unexpected happened, and in the 1.5mths she was with us, i had complained and gotten agent to counsel her 3 times.
Now, that I am left with no choice, and have transferred her. I asked agency to refund me the loan $. However, the agent countered that this means i'm terminating their service w/in 3mths, and will have to deduct $400 for it. I was :yikes: ! Before she highlighted this to me, I had said many times that i want to take my time to hire the next maid, and also do not want to attend the MOM course since its the 5th maid in the year. Thus, I will sit out that 1 year period and hire only then. Plus, im too stressed up now to wanna take another maid. They caused me too much troubles already! We countered that we will hire, but not so soon. So, we will wanna take back the loan $ but hire maybe 3-6mths later.
However, maid agency refused... and says, no delays entertained. If i want the $ back, they will charge me $400. My hubby countered and offered to sign an agreement that we will return to them to hire, but they refused. When my hubby then questioned, u mean u charge me $400, and if i want to hire after that, are you going to charge me another agency fee of $399?? The boss of the agency say yes!!
OMG!! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: They are obviously a CON COMPANY!!! I don't understand why I have to be \"forced\" by them to hire again when I'm not ready? They even countered me to go to MOM and take the course to hire again if i dun wanna lose the $400!! What sorta agency is this??
It looks like its a gone case... but i am just hoping to see if anyone have any suggestions on how i can mitigate this?? I know that asking MOM is useless... their response of \"agency not under their care\" is really a RIDICULOUS matter... these agencies are doing anything they like and no govt agency is clamping down on them! :stompfeet: :frustrated: :rant: :mad: -

just found out my ex-maid who left a big bag of clothes with us returned SIN last Nov to work for someone else… -

cant we use our singpass and her workpermit no to check, I tot I read somewhere that the w/p no remains the same and can check whether shes in spore -

Tks Hiaweh, assuming the maid was with us like 14 years back, will her work permit no. still remain the same today if she comes back to another employer?
So we can still check if agents dont reveal the no. of houses the maid was transfered, am i right? -

Ah, all of these filipinas cant b trusted, always cook up stories, just cant tell the truth, maybe yrs went for ang moh ...suppose to be high class for them. It take 6 weeks to come back so probably had employer b4 she left u. Never mind, let her start her loan all over again.
