Oh solli, I thot u mispelled why for who.
He is also an aggrieved party by association.
One of d consideration for d amount of damages to be awarded
in a defamation suit is how big is d plaintiff's reputation n
how much damage is caused to dat reputation.
On both counts, PM is greater.
      Dat's my reading.
If I may add, PM has not asked for damages in this case. If I may further add, the damages awarded to all govt leaders for all previous suits were all donated to charities.

I thought we were talking about transparency a few threads ago? Now its okay for people to make wild allegations and the people being maligned should just shut up?

They can clarify or address the issue to the public..

Not necessarily armed with a threat to sue to the individual..

That they sued not to enrich themselves but to clear their names. You shouldn't be fearful if you can back up what you said. Unless you are saying something you know you can't substantiate with facts.

No. Another rumor will start. People will say only one person needs to work to support the whole clan, where to get so much money? Dont know corrupt or not.

                Not holding \"sensitive official position\" != \"Not Working\"..

SG got no \"non GLC\" private companies meh.....? :?

I suppose the threat is also to urge people to 'speak their minds' responsibly other than clarifying the untrue allegations. At the rate comments are flying off in the cyberspace, hiding behind an internet persona, comments have gotten bolder to the extent of irresponsible and unsubstantiated accusations. The fact that he made it a warning is already showing the thought process he has put in.

I think it'll be a shame to exclude someone capable from high office on the basis that he/she is related to another influential, just for the sake of keeping up appearances.

                    I Agree!!!!!!! Both hands Upz......

But I need to add a word.. added in red and bold to your statement..

we don't care if the person is related or not.. as long as he/she is capable.. but. are they?

well.. result speaks.. not recommendations by \"someone\".. Let pple judge themselves..
